I think it,s fitting for some one who is from hawaii in any fashion to win, seeing it was a missionary,s son from hawaii that afforded all the students this chance as african americans.I,m sure he is turning in his grave to se the very people he opened a door for slamming a door in the face of a candident, based on what color is she? shame on you reverse racisist! Both of my parents are africian american!

I attended Hampton's Homecoming this past weekend, and from what I could see and hear, Miss Hampton was treated with respect. She represented herself and Hampton well.
After talking to many alumni and students, I feel that the administration needs to have input from all students. This seems to be more a problem than who was elected. When there is so much discord, students should be heard, and perhaps there would not be problems in the future. I think there are many people commenting who perhaps aren't aware that some students may feel disenfranchised because their vote for Miss Hampton was taken away. At one time Miss Hampton was selected by a vote of the student population. This was before the selection became a part of the Miss Virginia pageant.

EVERYONE needs to get over this "skin color" issue. It's beginning to stifle their judgement.
Everyone talks about HOW they want to be judged by their character and integrity and yet, these very same folks quibble over what skin color a person.
GET OVER IT. So WHAT if Miss Churchill is NOT black? African Americans do NOT have the monopoly on who is BLACK ENOUGH and WHO ISN'T. African Americans are the only culture who discriminates against EACH OTHER based on skin color. How ignorant is that? If you're high-yelllow, your not black enough, if you are dark black, your TOO black.
African Americans should feel blessed that we have a vast variations of black skin tones in our culture, but instead, we DISCRIMINATE and ATTACK each other. Racism is also very ALIVE within the African American population. We do it to ourselves, each other, our children, our friends, our relatives AND then get upset with other cultures call us out on it. GOD made each and everyone of us for a special reason and until we STOP all this fussing over what a person's skin color is, the African American population will continue to discriminate and destroy their own race and culture.
It's time Blacks realize that being BLACK doesn't give you the right to dictate who is "black enough or not black enough". The only person who has that right is GOD himself. I don't know about you....
But I'm black and I'm PROUD as hell to be black. I'm proud of you whether you're white, orange, brown, yellow, or whatever. Life is too freaking SHORT to be fussing over something as stupid as this.
Congrats goes out to Miss Churchill.
Cheers EBC!!! I couldn't have said it better. I say you and I get together as two AMERICANS (no adjective or hyphens here) and have a beer and watch a football game.:)

But she's STILL a student of the university. Get over it. Let's all get along. She represents the student body, which she is a PART OF! She is a STUDENT-in the STUDENT body! If she were black would it be different? Would so much have been said of this young lady? I am a proud black woman and I am proud of this university for embracing ALL.

I currently attend Hampton U. and i must say that I am happy for the young lady, i believe the real issue is the fact that she attends a satellite campus. The students at the other campus have no dealings with regular students on campus. the queen is meant to be the face of the student body, not someone that will be disconnected. I am a grad student on campus and i know how disconnected other grad students and myself are from other students. There is no way a student at a satellite campus can really represent the student body accurately regardless of the color of her skin.

I do not think that this would have been an issue, if the students of Hampton selected their Queen.

Just another example of reverse racism.
Can you honestly tell me what reverse racism is?...There is no such thing as "reverse racism"...Call it what it is...Racism is Racism...Are you saying the word "RACISM" only pertains to the prejudicial actions Whites committ against people of Color (black, mexican, asian, etc), while "REVERSE RACISM" are the actions whites exprience from people of Color? That phrase is so silly..."Reverse Racism"...It doesn't even exist in the dictionary...and the dictionary has added many new pop culture words to its pages.

It's not voted on because black people are racist they always vote for the black candidate no matter what. And they are ignorant look at any country in Africa run by them for proof compared to European Countries and USA/Canada, we don't have maleria and run around in diapers with sticks after animals. We have a president that is undeserving but won because Hillary and the other Candidates who have proven experience were not black. Now he has ran the deficit higher in one year than even Bush in his 8 all together did and Bush started 2 wars that is sad but what happens when someone with no experience becomes president. People need to wake up, how long will it go on that blacks can have there own universitys and college funds but it will be racist for whites and most other races. They are good at using people and getting welfare and whats sad is Americas whites have became stupid enough to let them. They are the downfall of society, look like I said at any of there countries they are never civilized, look at inner citys or any prodoment black community. High violence and many ppl who won't work. Alot of crack being sucked by those big nasty black lips.
I really think you should educate yourself. Your comments are very ignorant. As far as scholarship funds, The are scholarship opportunities that exclude African Americans and other people of color. I can tell you never went to college or at least attempted to go becuase you would know that the majority of College or Univeristy campus have at least a 90% Caucaisan student body.(which means they have alot of students that are non-black) You should try going and you will see what I am talking about.

As far as african amerians being uncivilized and not working, and "crack being sucked up by those big nasty black lips" goes to show that "white people" only see and believe what is shown in the media. There are many hard working African Americans that don't relie on Public assitance, that go on to college, that live productive lives, that are not sucking up crack (as you say. But you dont see that on tv. Just for you information there are just as many crack sucking, food stamp collectin, section 8 or trailer park (you'd be more familiar with that term then me)living, violent, white people. Know your facts before spewing out cancerous stupidity...

PS: I'm white...Your a disgrace...

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Aquarius

Keep calm and all will be well. You're feeling slightly fraught because there are so many demands on your time, and it won't help if you're trying to juggle some last-minute chores with some fun-filled social events. Get others to lend you a hand, or tell yourself that perfection is not an option right now and that you'll have to scale down your preparations accordingly.
