What a waste of time. This is about as big a non story as I ever saw. And you kept saying after a Wavy 10 investigation like you guys did a great job rooting out corruption. Give me a break. It was an ADULT halloween party.
Stick to real news.

I thought it actually showed that these elected officials can be held accountable for their actions. And it may have been an adult party, but it was a fundraiser for battered children.....not a private party. Great Job!

Come on now, give the guy a break - it was a Halloween party. Granted the print might have been in a rather inappropriate place, but I think you are taking this way too seriously.

Send Andy Fox back out on the street chasing erratic drivers like he used to; or the ladies of the evening . Now that was entertainment!

Typical of WAVY to make a big deal over nothing. Must have been a slow news day. The only thing suprising about this is that Andy Fox the convicted drunk is reporting it instead of Mary Kay Shamu Malonee breatlhly reporting it almost in tears!

So this was a fundraiser for battered children and not a private party-if we were to go with this argument, how is the woman to the rights costume any less ofensive? Lighten up people, if anything this story is comic relief from the general 'rubber necking' the local news does on much more grim topics.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY): In addition to her long and sordid ethics record, Senator Hillary Clinton took a lot of heat in 2007 — and rightly so — for blocking the release her official White House records. Many suspect these records contain a treasure trove of information related to her role in a number of serious Clinton-era scandals. Moreover, in March 2007, Judicial Watch filed an ethics complaint against Senator Clinton for filing false financial disclosure forms with the U.S. Senate (again). And Hillary's top campaign contributor, Norman Hsu, was exposed as a felon and a fugitive from justice in 2007. Hsu pleaded guilt to one count of grand theft for defrauding investors as part of a multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme.

Senator Barack Obama (D-IL): Last year, Senator Obama moves onto the "ten most wanted" list in 2007. In 2006, it was discovered that Obama was involved in a suspicious real estate deal with an indicted political fundraiser, Antoin "Tony" Rezko. In 2007, more reports surfaced of deeper and suspicious business and political connections It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed just two weeks after the senator purchased $5,000 of the company's shares. Obama was also nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law.

Waste of time to go after a Genie in a bottle. Over a custom and a fundraiser....let's get the big fish!!!

Ok... So the guy dressed up for Halloween, when to a fundraiser. He rented a costume that was already design. The words already in place. He did not place the word. There was no arrow pointing to it, and to be honest, I had to really look to see what the gaff was all about. Mr. DeSteph is one of the few "Lone Rangers" on City Council who says "wait a minute, let's really think this through first". He was the first to question the City Manager's new contract, among the many other things that are highly questionable and always controversial in the VB City Gvmnt workings.... I guess in Virginia Beach when you rock the boat for the right reason, someone will try to turn those waves around for the wrong reasons! Get a life!

I saw this same costume and it was located in the adult section of the halloween store along with all the other non appropriate costumes. I am more concerned that he goes on to say that he thought it was an innocent Genie costume. GIVE ME A BREAK. He knew exactly what he was doing!

This is a non story... We finally get someone willing to step up and we start picking on them for nothing... This is a costume... I saw it at Target in the kids section... I kind of like it... Again, no good deed goes unpunished.

I know Bill well, he is a good guy with great intentions. Andy needs to stop getting drunk and drinking and leave good guys like Bill alone.

I wonder what the motives are of the people doing this to Bill. Since when was it a good thing to sabotage fellow republican party members. Especially if they are elected officials.

Bill stood up for taxpayers and recently sttod up for Councilwoman Reba McClana and now so of course now it's pay back time from the status quo lobby.

I'm pretty sure you would be upset if a black man dressed up like Bush and acted a fool.

This man is racist and should think about the community before he tries to impress his freinds with his predjudice. What next? Dress up as a subway sanwich artist and walk in with a red dot on his forehead? Is it just me or is the racism in politics clearly visible to everyone but the ignorant? These rednecks have had their way for a long time already.

Those rednecks? What?!

Gee, there is no prejudice in THAT remark, right?

Racism?(Actually I think you meant prejudice, right?).

What "racism"?

Racism against mythical genies?

Now I’ve heard it all! Incredible.

I suppose if Bill DeSteph had worn a Superman costume he would have been accused by the status quo lobby of being “racist” against people from the planet Krypton?

Good grief!

(Ops, sorry, I didn’t want to be “racist” to Charlie Brown and other cartoon characters… I suppose I can’t write “Good Grief” anymore ..)

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Leo

Even though you usually pride yourself on being the strong silent type, love has a way of unlocking your tongue. The words coming out of your mouth may be familiar, but your sense of timing makes all the difference right now. Keep in mind that you never know how a risky gesture will work out, although you can always hope for the best. When in doubt, take the more cautious path.
