When Charles Glen Adams resigned from the Chesapeake Police Department during an investigation into stolen ammution doesn't that just say I'm guilty and what was his intentions with all the ammunition? A little business on the side? Dealing ammo to gang bangers and home invaders? Personal use? These are questions that need to be address for the safety of the public...personally I would like to know what this disgrace of a peace officer's intentions were with 25,700 rounds of police issue ammo! Don't you!

Has anyone thought that the only reason he is charged with Petit Larceny is because the facts of the case only warrant petit larceny. We are ASSUMING that all of the ammunition found belongs to him and was stolen. I happen to know a little more about the case than most...and the majority of the ammo is not stolen, but was old ammunition given away by the police department. But naturally the department will cover it's tail and state that they never give away ammo to their officers. What you don't know is that he is a firearms instructor and has/can easily run thru 2,000 rounds in a day without being tired. What you don't know is that the department only gives their officers 39 rounds to serve and protect you...feel safe now? Yes he took something that doesn't belong to him! Have you ever taken anything that wasn't yours?..a pen, maybe paper, and paper clip? His intent wasn't to sell it, nor was it a part of a sinister plan. His plan was to shoot it to become a better shot, so that should the day come that he have to fire, he will have hit his mark with speed and accuracy.

accuracy is right, like when they use the old boy's and girl's club on sparrow road for their parties they can't seem to hit the waste basket with their used condom's after a night with call girl's.

Thank God someone else out there can see through the department's BS. If the people of Chesapeake only knew the amount of "petit larceny" that goes on throughout the city of things that we the tax payers pay for. I know first hand having lived with a "city worker" for years. Not to mention the bleeding of the time clock. I realize that this is not just a local problem but change needs to start somewhere. I feel this man was wrongly done. There is dirty politics at play here. It seems as though the good ones have to pay for the crooked persons BS. HE is NOT one of the crooked ones. We have lost one of the most outstanding officers that we could ever have.

I have spoken with this officer several times about the incident. He in no way denies that he did wrong. Infact, he takes responsibility for what he did and is ready to move on. Lets not forget the 7 years this officer spent serving the city of chesapeake, not to mention the countless hours in the heat and cold. Don't forget that while you were all at home during Isabel..he was at work and couldnt go home for a week to his house because he was saving your families. Not to mention that this officer has twice been forced to take the life of another to save the citizens of chesapeake. And has been awarded the Distinguished Combat Cross trice in 7 years. We forget that he was out there chasing down murderers and robbers that everyone else runs from. Having known this officer has made me a better person. No matter what the consequence, he refuses to tell anything but the truth..how many of you can say that? And yes, he is somewhat of a victim of politics. Because people always want to see the bad in others, people forget what good he has done.

Amen to survivor's posting!!!! Officer Adams, and yes to all who know this fine officer he is still Officer Adams, is one of the good guys, he is honest refusing to lie no matter what! Does anyone realize what a scapegoat is? Does anyone realize that the police department is covering it's own behinds because someone else dropped the ball and did not and cannot account for ammunition that came into and left the academy. How many other officers have in their possession at this very moment ammunition that others gave them or they took from the academy after firing practice? Oh that's right, they've all hid it by now and one guy takes the fall. Petty larcency - I don't think so!! Character assassination - That's more like it! This is not a job losing offense and I as a taxpayer take exception to wasting my money on this and losing an excellent officer who now has to be replaced (more taxpayer money). I only hope that one of the other departments in the area would offer Officer Adams a position and put his talents to work for them.

Seven years on the force wasted, I don't think so. He stole from the city and due to his hoarding nature (OCD Complex) now has paid a steep price. I know all about the actions at the shooting range and how over time rounds pile up but still he took an oath and must accept his fate. Trouble is when he took the test to become a police officer he passed a "real test" not one dumbed down to meet the standards of "Modern Society" as Chesapeake is one third black somehow we need more "diversity" on our police force and "by any means necessary" is our mantra! Ultimately we will get that "dumbed down" force and woe betide us all when the "Keystone Kops" try and fight crime! No Quotas!

There is way more to the story than what is heard on the news and other source but it is being kept secret. Officer Adams is a really good guy. And many people will agree with me...

There is more to this story than the public will probably ever know! And I hope that for once that the public does not really believe everything that they hear or read about in the news. I for one stand behind Officer Adams and agree with "Eagle" that he is a really good guy. And this is for his supposingly best friend on the force "Where are you during all this turmoil, standing beside your good friend or cowering in the corner?"

Those who know officer Adams will attest to his motto's..."if you mess up, man up, and move on!" " no matter what the consequence, tell the truth." These are things that he lives by. YES, he messed up....he manned up...and you all need to let him move on! If he were to respond, he would be furious that anyone has made it a race issue! Having known him for so many years, I have come to learn that to him their are good people and bad people, and race to hi is only a discriptor of someone's skin tone, not their intelligence, how they live, of what their goal is in life! Yes he has to pay a price...we all do sometime in life! Maybe his price has been paid. All I've ever known him to want is to help people, to be the first one thru the door and the last to leave. Now that dream is gone...his price has been paid.
Let me ask you all one question! How many people do you know who would truley put themselves in harms way without hesitation. Really think this one thru people. How many officers out there will go to the last thread of their life to defend yours? Adams would, without hesitation! Good luck Chesapeake...you have lost a true warrior

Let's just hope he doesn't "move on" to a different department like portsmouth or norfolk. This guy was hoarding ammo for a race war. That's what all those types think...that they may lose their flannel shirts when Obama takes office. Even Farrakhan said it last week. The racists are surfacing one at a time and being outed by the righteous!!

The true warrior will seek compensation for the wrongs inflicted upon us by the rednecks and country type whites.
