Apollo Soucek was a relative of mine and I am seeing conflicting information on the plane he flew. Most sources say it was a Wright Apache. A few sources say it was A Curtiss Hawk. Is the Apache a newer designation of a modified Hawk? I am interested in learning where this confusion stems from and getting the record straight.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Don, My husbands father was Apollo & Zeus's cousin from Medford, Okahoma. There was another set of Soucek brothers outstanding in the Navy, named Archie Soucek, and Victor Soucek. Archie is still alive and lives around Saludo, Virginia. Archie would have the information you requested. I believe he is about 93 years old. His son Archie Jr. is an attorney there at Saludo. I am just getting into the geneology because of my son Charles Cody Soucek, and his heritage.

Hi Mary,
Thanks for writing. I've made a study of Apollo and have had many emails from Archie jr., Archie Sr. and many others in the Kruh. No one ahs answered the airplane question, though. Was it a Curtiss Hawk or Wright Apache? Let me know if you find out where the information can be clarified.
Don
PS. I see there is another response to my post.
Maybe you have already answered my question.

Don -
If I'm not mistaken, the Guinness Book of World Records shows it as the Wright Apache. I have a picture from the Smithsonian which may have the information and will try to look it up. Just give me some time!

Daily Horoscope for February 13

Taurus

It's an important day to enlist the cooperation of your partner and loved ones. If you can sort out any differences then you can work together to achieve your goals. Don't try to put aside the concerns or objections of others, though. Take time to discuss important matters. The home is the heart of your partnerships and if you put in the effort there, you can enjoy the fruits of the labours of all your family.
