Good for her. We tell the whites to stop segregation, I think it should apply to blacks also, they can be as big of a racist if not bigger than a white.

These students are just acting the same way White America did when Obama was voted President of the United States. It's ridiculus either way. We as Americans need to get over the race thing! It's so played out!

Geez...why does her skin color matter...just a bunch of whiny losers looking for an excuse! No one says a thing when a black woman wins anything but because this "Minority" on campus won they act like that...how disrespectful These "Haters" should be ashamed of themselves.

I can not understand how a segment of people who had been scoffed for so long because of the color of their skin can be so upset over this. They finally had a chance to show how people should be treated and they blew it. Why can't people wake up and see everyone for what they are instead of what they look like?

Here's the kicker...

One student was upset that the winner wrote a letter to PrezBO. Her comment about it was, "Unless she be talkin''bout Health Care, she got no bizness writing to Obama,"

And, one student said that HU was "an all Black school".

Wrong.

It's open to anyone, and there are plenty of White students.

a LONG time ago I was the shot clock operator at the Hampton Coliseum. I wasn't allowed to sit at the table during the HU/NU game. (I'm White) I still got paid to sit in the stands and watch. But that always stuck with me. Today the government is trying to eliminate discriminatory practices by changing who is discriminated against.

Where's Al? Where's Jesse? Where's BO? What if the tables were turned? Was this a Miss Black Hampton University Pageant? IDIOTS!!!!!!!!

It should not make a different as to her race period. It is what is is-so let's just focus on the real issues. equality---WAIT that's what this is...have a great day...

Everyone ought to know how these black people and all of these so called "minorities" including homosexuals are.Why don't you white people please please please wake up and realize that these blacks and homosexuals don't want "equal" rights, they want all the rights and don't want white people or heterosexual people to have any rights.And if you think ya'lls president is going to side with this white girl beauty queen, then you are only lying to yourself.Even if he does side with her openly, you better believe he's only doing it for public ratings.And if this article about Churchill doesn't prove what I'm saying is true,then you just don't want to know the truth.

Racism is alive and well at Hampton University- why can't someone other than a black be representative of the school? It is amazing what some of the other students have said and how they walked out of the event when she won!

People, please!!!! What does it matter if the young lady isn't BLACK? She's a living, breathing human being going to school trying to better herself with an education...which is more than I can say for a lot of young people nowadays. When are we going to ever get a grip on life and embrace its diversities? The diversities are what makes life interesting. Just think for a moment if everyone looked like you and acted like you. What a dull world that would be! STOP hating! STOP criticizing! Remember we are human beings of different hues just like a beautiful rainbow. Let's learn to appreciate the positives and what diversity can bring to each of us...before we ALL perish as FOOLS!
