I think that while it's an unfortunate situation, you shouldn't have animals you can't handle, you accept the risk.

I have a ball python & know that an infection or the smell of another pet (dog or cat etc) along with many other things can cause a snake to react badly. I'm very sorry for the loss of life and hope that snakes will not suffer too much adverse attention (i.e. pit bulls) to this. Husband, God Bless You and help you through this horrible time.

10 ft, 13 ft or 14 ft? Is it at the animal shelter? or has it been euthanized? And what's with the address and so much personal information? Neighbors, this snake or any other is of no danger to you.... If it had not been being cared for (giving antibiotics to a pet shows that the owners cared and took care of their pet - snake, cat, dog, rabbit - and included vet visits). Really doubt you have anything to worry about! Snakes are good pets!

Yes! you are confused "No snake is a danger to you". How much venom does a dog, cat or rabbit carry? A man down the road has a pet Rattler, who's head is bigger than your hand. Come on down and pet it on the head....All talk.

a 25 year old woman with a pet like that, she is going to try to hold him to keep him calm for his shot, and the most common way to hold a larger snake is across your shoulders.
the snakes instinct is to hold on and not fall.
if he was just trying to hold on, she would not have been strong enough toget him to release.
i dont think he killed on purpose, that is not in a snakes nature.
as far as striking at the glass at the cop and doctor, i would imagine he would because he was scared, didnt know them and the were not experienced enough to handle him correctly.
there was no reason to believe he was "just an aggressive killer"
and to put him to sleep.
now there is a dead woman and a dead snake because of alot of ignorance.
do the investigation into snake behavior before you blame the snake.
and yes, we own large snakes, have been bit by them but they never try to "kill" unless it is an adequate food source. they wont kill unless they are actually hungry and know they can swallow what they kill.
most myths are wrong and facts in this case have been completely ignored.

So i'm curious is the snake been put down or has it not been put down? This article is saying one thing at the top but by time you get down to the bottom it contridicts what has been said at the top.

It's sad. However, anyone in a navy family knows that it gets quite boring when your spouse is out. So I suppose the snakes appeal to her while her husband was out. Whatever it maybe, it sucks that it killed her. At least she died doing what she loved. RIP.

Why in the hell would someone want to harbor and feed something that can kill you?

My heart goes out to the woman who was strangled.
