Scam Alert: Crooks target area wedding vendors

I received this email:

I found your info while i was searching for a professional dance teacher and i want to believe you are a dance teacher/instructor a reliable one with a good teaching experience.i have been contracted to book for 10 persons that will be coming from Dubai they would like to book for 2 weeks dancing lesson for 3 hours each day Monday to Saturday (morning hours) for a group of 10.
private lessons like Tango,Latin,Jazz,Salsa,Swing and Ballroom not necessary all any can serve i was told that they are looking for something unique,in case if the above mentioned styles of dance does not go with the type you teach kindly get back to me with the type you teach along side with the cost.

they are asking for 3 hours per day for 2 weeks - Monday - Saturday. A total of 36 hrs,while they await their performance within your state.

they will be arriving on the Date of 10th January till 24th of January 2010.how ever,the date is adjustable.(Please give me total cost for the period specified including all applicable taxes).what is your payment options? Hope you accept credit cards?

how ever,an agent has been contracted for their accommodation and flight logistics.so all am asking of you is to get back to me with the Grand total cost for the whole of their training in your facility for the period specified.you can call me on +447045-707-527 for further details or by a returning email.

Dr Mike Ashly also doing the rounds with the same scam - they forward you credit card details to pay for initial deposits and then also ask you to process an additional payment for a logistics agent that is unable to accept credit cards and forward them some money. what most people don't know is if the credit card is not legit even though the funds appear to have cleared in your account you are liable for the amount for 120 days so if it is withdrawn prior to this any money you have forwarded cannot be got back

I got a new one last week. At first I thought maybe it was real, they didn't want me to put anything on their credit card, they wanted my bank information.

My name is Rebecca Rodin , from Nova Scotia , Canada . I will be coming to Des Moines after my shopping trip with my Husband Anthony Ferri who's French by nature to start his new work with his branch construction company in Des Moines, IA . And just before then we will be getting married on the 12th of December , 2009.
We need a good wedding planner to take care of our wedding both reception and ceremony. We require the best for the best memories for we & our children in future and as a matter of fact we have budgeted 25000$ for this special event.
Also, the ceremony and reception event will be taking place in a location and we are expecting at most 50 guests on the day of our occassion because most of our families in Europe and in Canada will be present for the occassion.
Also, we would like you to know the reception and ceremony will be taking place @ 1 location which the ceremony event would be in a garden location or outdoor while the reception takes place indoors, we are still about to make reservation though but we are making progress with that.

This is just the beginning, beware of them!

Thank you for the alerts. Within the past few months I got at least 2 of these mails from those scammers for wedding planners. The first one I spent so much time on, looking for vendors for the wedding & reception...then got the last email saying he will send his credit card info and for me to process it for $12,000. more and send it to his travel agent. That was my red flag!!!! Wrote back and said I did not want the responsiblity of
forwarding his money to the travel agent and he should do so himself so he would have a record incase he encountered some problems.....never heard back from him since....
I got the 2nd one just the other day...they changed it around some..but still smelled fishy!!!
