I have found very little followup information regarding the 3 day celebration for dedicating Mt. KIA/MIA in Saguache County.

Clarification as to who actually named the peak is appropriate. It appears that those claiming credit for naming this peak have little or no affiliation with those documented in USGS Board on Names minutes/web site, etc. as actually having named the peak. So, who really did the work to honor our vets - specifically in naming Mt. KIA/MIA?

Will you be doing a followup article to clear up this matter. Readers need to know the truth - no matter how small an issue might seem.

An internet reaseach using key names:
Bruce L. Salisbury & Mt. KIA/MIA, would show who named Mt. KIA/MIA.

Msgt. Bruce L. Salisbury Ret.was the man who proposed the name Mt. KIA/MIA, & who worked tirelessly for years to get the mountain named. He met with people, encouraged others of us to join in the letter writing, & never gave up on his quest to honor those who went to serve & didn't return. A place for those who's loved ones did not get to come home.

Bruce is a veteran of the Korean war. He is the real deal. He is a veteran who did what he said he did. His wife Dottie thought of the name, & together they never gave up on having a Mt.KIA/MIA, for America.

I know this because Bruce is family & this family has watched this man work hard & long to get the Mountain named.

The documentation lies in letters from Salisbury as he sought to get a mountain named for the KIA/MIA of America, & these copies of these letters can still be found on the net, some may be archived becuse of the years it took to get this Mt. renamed.

There is a paper trail of documentation on this subject. Msgt. Bruce Salisbury Ret. is an author who is also an experienced reseacher & he documents what he writes. He is a true American hero, & the truth deserves to be told.

I believe good news reporting would be documented news reporting. It's a simple matter of researching the facts. I look forward to seeing the documentable truth printed in newspapers across Colorado.

My grandfather Bruce Salisbury renamed it and is rather disgusted by the blatant stupidity of those whom would steal credit.
