Giant Eagle is a dump and nasty to customers anyway. May as well shop at The Bottom Dollar, it's a better location anyway.

Well, with only so many dollars to go around, looks like one of the two up at Olympia SC will bite the dust. Giant Eagle isn't going anywhere. Four grocery stores in a 2 mile stretch in a fairly poor market means somebody got to go.

All depends on the brands they carry & sell. Most of those off name brands at Sav-A-Lots & others are garbage , including some Aldi's brands. Some people today consider 'hot pockets' or pizza 'real food , so likely it doesn't matter to them if it's quality level or not. I'm not eating that crap to save a lousy $20 bucks per food order.

I think they should do an income check before you can enter the store. You must provide a copy of the last three years of your income tax returns.

Also, you must have a credit report from at least two of the three credit bureaus. If your credit score is less than 800 you must be bonded.

If you satisfy the above or post a $25,000 bond you can then shop at the store.

You got to curb the herd.

Sounds like the anti-Christ suggestion, mark everyone. All stores in McKeesport would then close or suffer immense cost issues. Most of McKeesport would be barred, including politicians. McKeesport is full of politicians such as Brewster receiving millions of government money. The fly over ramp is one example of failed government money. The fly over ramp by the Shop N' Save and Eat N' Park is another poor example.

"When viewed in light of the 2010 census, Senate District 45 as drawn in the 2001 reapportionment plan had the second lowest population of any district in the commonwealth and its population was 13.2 percent below the ideal population for a Senate district," according to the LRC's filing.

Some of you people are prejudice and rediculous. I am a working, tax paying citizen and I get EBT because the job I work at only pays Minimum Wage and for being there 5yrs/3mos, I am making a little over a dollar more, I need some help to buy food for my family, which consist's of me & my child. So, before you go calling me a "Pig", learn the fact's, Eddie, Let Freedom Ring & Pinata, not everybody who get's EBT are freeloader's. I work hard for my money and it all goe's to my bill's, taxes and mortgage!! Hope you have a great life!

JQP 1776,

I believe that I would speaking for others on this site, by saying what I am about to say.

First of all, sounds like you honestly need the assistance - that's ok. I admire you for working at your present job for 5 years & 3 mos. I've been at mine for 13 years, my wife has been at hers for 5 I think, and my 21 yr old son, at his for a year and a half. Three incomes coming in to my house, and we struggle too. There is absolutely no assistance for us- no free cell phones, no free cheese - nada. We have pride, and although we don't have everything we want, we get by.

When I say the welfare pigs- I mean the welfare pigs. The freeloaders? Oh yes- I hate freeloaders, and truthfully wish they would just fall off of the face of this earth. That being said, I am certain that you know who is being referred to.. I am talking about the young woman with 4,5, 6 kids to 4,5,6 guys. The women who walk around Wal-Mart with their fancy blue tooths, while their 4,5,6 kids (and sometimes their "baby daddy" too) walk behind her eating food & drinking pop without paying for it. These pigs live better than you & I do. These pigs get free or reduced housing, free or reduced electricity/gas, cell phones, etc... Doesn't this make you angry knowing that you work and still struggle? These pigs are screwing you, just like they are screwing me. These pigs likely got pregnant out of wedlock, no hubbies, etc... No structure. And I have to bail them out? BULL.

Is there a need for assistance? Certainly. It should be a stepping stone. Look at unemployment nowadays. What are we up to? 2 years of benefits? Who wants to look for a job when the government is willing to give you moola?

Think it over....

Explain it away however you want -- the fact is , you got yourself into this situatoon and now I have to help bail you out.

AN I am tired of bailing irresponsible people out.

You are a "tax paying citizen", but you will also get most of that back when you file your taxes. Plus, you get free food from the taxes I pay.... So net-net, you pay almost nothing.

I am assuming you are female.

Is it my fault you are single or dont have the father around?

Is it my fault you chose to bring a life into this world when you could not support it?

And maybe you should have an apartment instead of a mortgage? Why would you put yourself in hock further when you can barely get by?

I'll tell you why -- because you feel you are entitled to "a better life".

Why should I have to bail you out because of your poor choices?

I made my decisions - stay in school, keep my legs closed and not lay down with the first penis I saw, and further my education. I paid for my student loans for years and ate ramen noodles until I did.

Here is a concept: work hard and get a better job that doesnt pay minimum wage..or, work two jobs...Lots of people do it so they DONT have to live off the public teet.

I went there yesterday, had a hell of a time finding a parking space, the lines were 50 deep, every aisle crowded with shoppers and the people waiting to check out occupying an entire side of the aisle so you could not see or get near anything that was on the shelves...I took a quick look around and got out. I would rather pay a few dollars more to shop in comfort and at my leisure and be able to check out without waiting for an hour in a long line. My time is worth much more than a few dollars saved. I am sticking with Giant Eagle.

First of all, I am not a leech, I work and I go to school, I am a Veteran of the United States Army, 13yrs of my life for my Country, they are helping to pay for part of my schooling,I am paying for the other half. I do have a husband who is very sick with MS, whom I have been married to for 30 yrs now, we just are not together right at this point and time. I didn't lay down with the first "PENIS" I saw, as a matter of fact, my husband is the one and only man I have been with, Second, I am not living off of you, I am living off of my "TAX MONEY", I too have eaten Ramen Noodles just so my son could have a decent meal and I am not some young girl, I am 50yrs old, been working for many, many yrs. And I am "WHITE"!! And I don't consider my son a "SITUATION", I consider him a gift from God!! And I bought my house with my own money, not the Government's. And you are not bailing me out. So, don't judge me, you are not God. Have a great life and God bless you.
P.S. I only get $99.00 in Food Stamps, not unlike some people who get $100.00's!!

I agree with you 100% Eddie. And thank you for understanding unlike some people who called me a "Leech". I just need a little bit of help, heck I don't even have health insurance, so God forbid I get sick. I am just an American who want's the best for my child. I put him before me anytime. He eats before me, he get's cloths, shoes, Etc... before me. So, Thank You for being kind with your word's and explanation. Have a great evening.

Man that's just wrong, jive, that response. You should be thanking Jesus that you never had to ask for help! The dude has as family...the state of this country is to blame for his, and many other's, situations. At least he's IN THE HOME with his family and working and doing what he can. He's a VET for God's sake, this man defended our freedom! What's wrong with you??? Get over yourself and don't forget to give thanks to God when you say your prayers tonight. THERE IS NO BETTER JOBS, WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT????

Kudos to you, Sir, for not copping out and cracking under the pressure and keeping your family together. Thank you for serving our Country. I appreciate you. Ignore these haters.

Thank you for your kind word's, at least you are a true American. By the way, I am a woman, but all the same, Thank You!! People need to quit being so right sided, they need to be on the left side once in awhile. It was an Honor and a Privlidge to serve for my country. If I could go back in, I would. So many people are so quick to judge each other and not appreciate them. God Bless you and your family, May God protect you and keep you safe from harm.

Everyone loves the food, just ask your friend Brewster. Your friend Brewster opened it with the new mayor, and all your local politicians. The parking lot is loaded consistently! McKeesport is coming back because of the Bottom Dollar! Your former mayor, now senator James Brewster will tell you. Brewster brought the business here, and you should be supportive of your friend. Shame on you, Brewster your friend said so!

Bottom Dollar in beats Giant Eagle in McKeesport hands down. The employees are impeccable!

You save a lot more than $20 and the brands they carry are the best, Brewster said! They even have a load of the national name brands you refer to. They carry many national name brands at lesser prices than Giant Eagle in McKeesport.

Every one is cheaper, Campbell's soups at Giant Eagle in McKeesport is $2, Bottom Dollar same size can $1.50

Someone buying Campbells soups alone for $15 saves .50 on each can! 10 cans, save $5 already, spend $20 or more total with a $10 off store coupon you save $10 more with it! You go there to buy your healthy national name brands and you will save! Brewster said, but I proved it!
