Nothing. Stay away. If you're not from here, you don't need to come here. Go to the mall through Creighton. Stop cutting through my neighborhood. Beat it.

Springdale girls were ( and maybe still are) very easy. Kind of chubby for the most part but basically nice! They could be like "Dynamos" in certain situations ( if you know what I mean.

Hi Steve: There are a lot of cities named Springdale. To get in the top 10 on the search engines I had to make sure I had "PA" or "Penna" or "Pennsylvania" on my Springdale High School site when I started it in 1999 for the 2000 All Class Reunion. When I ran a search, a lot of other Springdales came up. When I lived there (Graduated 1947) The amusement parks were, Wenzel's Bar, Shoop's Restaurant and Mock's Pool Hall and there used to be a pool hall next to Shoop's but can't remember the name. I am glad to see somebody started a Springdale thread. I have been enjoying the New Kensington thread because I lived there and went to Ken Hi before we moved to Springdale. I lived on Orchard street and will always have fond memories of Springdale. I hope more people come on this thread.

My Dad used to take us to Wenzel's. They had the first color tv in the valley.

The best hamburgers were at Shoop's Restaurant" (Now Closed), The best boilermakers (shot and beer) were at Wenzel's Bar (also had some good food), the best hot fudge sundays were at Gibb's Drugstore. There was a great little coffee shop close to the post office and the ice cream parlor called Bards, and then there were the great clubs below Pittsburgh St., like The Krivian Hall where you could polka into the wee hours. There were a lot of good people in that town and a lot of them still live there.

Hi Springdale - The Alumni Assoc. announced the 6th Annual Mini-Golf Tournament at Glens Custard in Springdale on Saturday September 26th. $10 gets you a round of golf and/or admission to the clubhouse food afterward at the Krivian Hall.

Both male and female have those active hormones. They are only doing what comes natural, and also, it is a lot of fun and gratification. To label someone as "easy" is an insult to nature and to that person. There is something wrong with our programming that should be corrected in the next thousand years. Enjoy life and what it has to offer, stop looking for the bad in order to make ones self superior. Life is too short. we are all superior.

I never heard of Tech and Silvertop beer. What state are you talking about? Iron City, Duquesne and Fort Pitt were the beers of the day in Springdale, Pennsylvania.

I grew up in New Ken and Springdale. In 1949 I went to work on a sport fishing boat in Miami and lived most of the time in Florida from then on. Drank a lot of beer in those days. I drank the local beers, but I guess I missed some.

Hey Sam, how you doing?? Now I'm a self proclaimed expert on brands of beer back in the 50's. You must have just missed Tech and Silvertop. I think they were brewed at the same breweries that I.C. and Duquesne were brewed. They weren't very popular though. Around Christmas I.C. put out a beer they called Frothing Slosh. Rolling Rock was a local beer in those days too. There was Stoneys and Yuengling too. The most popular at the time was Carlings and Budweiser though in spite of all the local stuff. I delivered beer to most of the joints in New Ken in the late 50's, early 60's. Carlings was, by far the biggest seller.
So what do the locals in Cal. drink Sam, I'm guessing Corona.

Hi Bob:
Good to see you are still out there. The local beers were so good in those days that Bud didn't have a chance. I do remember Stoneys beer and of course Rolling Rock, which I can get out here. I do remember drinking Pabst in New Ken. The old boiler makers were in at Wenzels in Springdale. 10 cent shot and a nickle beer. My first experience with an upgrade beer was in Fort Lauderdale in 1948 when I had a Michelobe. I wasn't impressed. Here in California, there are so many brands of beer, that I don't think there is a favorite. Some of those Mexican beers are pretty good, Corona, Pacifico, Dos Exes, Modello Negra are a few good ones. There is a chain of stores called Trader Joes that is a great place to shop for good food at a reasonable price. They have their own brand of beers that have the European flavor. I drank a lot of that, I say drank because I have stopped drinking for a while. It wasn't easy, but I have more energy and I can stay awake longer. I had a lot of things to do that I wasn't doing. Now I am making them happen. I won't say I quit, because I like to drink a martini or two while cooking my dinner and I love the taste of a good beer. Just backing off to get my second wind. I do have to admit it has been good sleeping at night, more energy and doing the things I want to do. Here's looking at you, old guy.

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Virgo

Enjoy today's lively atmosphere. It's great for throwing yourself into social settings and mixing with as many people as possible. You'll feel no hint of shyness or nerves, even if you're facing a room full of strangers. If things have been tricky with a near neighbor or close relative recently, this is a good day to sort things out even if you have to be quite tough in the process.
