Skills contest to market a house skirts state gaming laws

Write a great "pet lover" essay. And win an Ocala mansion. That's the pitch from author Clementina Marie Giovannetti, who says she will "give" her $1.25 million home to the person who writes the best story.

And what if the winning essay just HAPPENS to be one written by her best friend??!!!

The friend "wins" the house, everyone else who sent in their $200 plus $20 fee got duped, and Clementina cashes in. Or maybe she "buys" the house right back from her friend for a certain amount......like maybe half of what the contest brought in......what a scam!

It's a way for 2 people to partner up and rip off thousands and pocket the cash with no regulation to stop them.

Sounds like some folks are jealous they did not think of the idea. I guarantee all of you whiners would be doing it without regard to who gets ripped off if it suited you.

I'll "bet" you all play lotto (also known as a tax on the stupid) and don't complain at all.

As far as paying someone to use your the fruits of your labor, I'll bet you also spend time to send in your email address and other info to get a "free" trinket worth a few cents.

By the way, you can tell from the kind of books she writes that she already has a great handle on how to appeal to stupid people (of which there are a great many), so why wouldn't she use that knowledge to come out on top of a bad RE market?

She paid 895K according to the tax records. It sold for 399K in 98. I wonder who "valued" it at 1.2M now as the sign out front says what with the RE market in decline ever since then.

I have a question too: How come you could not look this up for yourself?

I've met the woman and seen the home and they are both beautifuland full of light. Can't anyone be creative and bless people at the same time? So what if she sells her house? People do that every day without blessing anyone. I say God Bless and God Speed!
