WOW, Im kind of in the middle of all these..i am 20 years old..and a mother to one amazing little boy. but seriously people..!! some of you parents out there wonder why your kids dont tell you anything or lie to you..YOUR SPYING ON THEM THROUGH MYSPACE!! if you had more control on your kids..give them a freakin cell phon.download the parent control tracker on it so you ALWAYS know where they are and trust them a litte bit! I have a myspace as well and i love it..the only problem with crimes on myspace is stupid people!! not myspace..just idiots that use it..listen kids! LISTEN TO YOUR PARENTS!! DONT TALK TO STRANGERS ON MYSPACE!! they dont want to be your friend..my god if someone you dont know that is over 4 years older than you is trying to be your friend there is something seriously wrong with that person!! and parents!! RELAX!! myspace is fun!! have them put the privecy controls on and then there all good! you can make it so no one can even friend request them unless they know your childs last name and email address..myspace is not the enemy..and yes parents your kids cuss..they talk about sex and other things you dont want to know about..but unless your going to pay out of your ass for private home schooling there going to hear it anyways..

GO Blumenthal !! I totally agree. Parents need to know what their kids are doing when, where, how, why and with who !! They need to know their friends and their friends friends, and unfortunately their friends parents, because I know an awful lot of kids whose parents that allow underage drinking at their homes. You can't blame myspace or anything else for the behavior of kids today, Parents need to step up and take the blame for being to lax with their kids.

True, but how do you know which ones are harmful? Sometimes you think you know your best friend, but then they do something which convinces you that you really don't know anyone. You just take chances. |

I think the MySpace/Шnternet thing for teens is about much more than just keeping their identity/home address private. First, they should not be messaging people they do not know. Also MySpace has a place to enter which High School they attend, and then they also have a default picture - often trying to ‘look grown’ and ’sexy’ …. so now the preditor knows which school they attend and has their photo! Target! Also, I think parents are so adamant about ‘respecting their child’s privacy’ that they do not know WHAT is going on in their online life. WE are the parents, and they look for us to BE the parent, even when they so struggle for their ‘privacy’. I think it’s important to have their passwords (or know how to get them if necessary). As for me, I don’t allow my children to have My Space or any other social networking accounts. I constantly struggle with the balance of watching out for my kids when they go online. I even istalled internet filter Ez Internet Timer http://www.internettimer.net It helps me control online usage for my kids. So no, as long as I personally am responsible for what my children do.

In the state of CT, any teen can have sex as long as their are within 3 yrs. of each other. An 18 yr. old can have sex with a 15 yr. old. How every is in the Leg. Hrtfd. are indecent and immoral. The local police will tell our teens that their are not doing anything illegal and will tell our teens asorts of things, but never anything moral or ethical. Where is this state going? So why not online or myspace.
Who ever is passing or changing the state status aren't moral.

My space like facebook allows the kids to invite or accept anyone. Besides sexual overtones there is chilling together with others that they just met. The kids world has been opened to all sorts of corruption. CT General State Statutes clearly state they can be intimate as long as they are within 3 years of each other. An 18 yr old can be with a 15 yr. old and the local police will confirmed this. Let's face it parents have lost or been underminded by their own state laws. 14 yr. girl can get bithcontroll, condums for sale to anyone and samesex marriage is law now. So what do parents do? Go to your state rep. and start complaining.

Myspace is the new Rape and Greet. Ladies, get your an us ready.
No. Myspace is not dangerous at all. It's is like every other social network. It is the parents fault for not teaching their kids about the dangers of other people. And if they don't want their kids on these site they should have blocked them! All the schools in this town have blocked every single social network so no student can do that here. |
Besides basic rights for gays who should be able to marry just like you can. If kids couldn't get birthcontrol we would have pregnant children all over the place. In my youth the school nurse had condoms you could go get and BE SAFE. Now the poor kids have to go into a store to buy them and that's embarrasing at their age. This is how kids get themselves in trouble and have a life of being a kid with a kid and miss all life has to offer like college. |
Wrong. 18+= no sex under 18. 17 can sleep with 14 though. |
