Warrant Details Doctor's Alleged Non-Reporting Of Abuse

Thank goodness this was prosecuted and published here so more doctors will "get it." I have seen this fairly commonly among small-town psychiatric and medical professionals who think things would be better handled by "keeping it quiet" and letting local folks deal with it. Clients/patients are hard to come buy in these little towns and they don't want to lose the revenue, or they think they know better than law enforcement or DCF staff who are objective and not swayed in their decisions by financial issues or personal relationships. The abused children are often neighbors of the mandated reported, living in a small town where they and their family and friends see the professional at the grocery store, at town meetings, etc.

Again, I hope this case will open the eyes of those professionals who mean well, but need to change their ways.

Mom should be charged also. Her insistence on keeping it quiet and "gathering evidence" caused this poor child more trauma. Hopefully he can be protected from her. She is complicit in the subsequent sexual abuse of her child, who she is responsible for protecting. Sad.

What about the boy? Has he been taken from his CRAZY mother? She thinks it's okay for a grown man to be naked on top of a five year old boy. What is she--a Catholic nun?!

Take the boy into DCF custody!!!

I doubt if a Catholic nun would approve of sexual abuse against any child or for that matter a woman. Your bigotry is coming through loud and clear

It's her lack of judgment that probably made him vulnerable to the abuse in the first place. The signs were probably evident long before she chose to play junior investigator.

This mother should be ashamed of herself. First of all letting the abuse occur again just so she could get proof. Second of all causing the doctor to be arrested, putting his job in jeopardy. Unbelievable.

Sorry- he put himself in jeopardy. He's a mandated reporter and should have refused her request and done the right thing. It's called responsibility for ones own actions.

The Mother sounds like trash with a crazy pedophile boyfriend. I am sure the signs were there but when you lack common sense and need a crazy BF you miss stuff like that.

She did not suspect abuse, she knew it was happening. Why did she get the child in this horrible situation. She was so desperate for a man! It was filthy of her to put the doctor in a predicament like that. SHE NEEDED TO GET THE CHILD OUT ASAP.

Was this mother related to the one in VT who didn't see any problems with her 12 year old hanging out with her ex-offender brother-in-law?

Any adult that was not sure if this behavior was harmful to the child should not be near children unsupervised.
This woman was likely thinking only of herself and her relationship with the man, and obviously did not care enough for her child.
The Doctor was wrong in not reporting the case to the authorities, but that should be a separate case, it appears that was misjudgment in that he received no gratification from keeping it quiet, and had nothing to loose to report it.
The woman on the other hand should be place in a mandatory treatment program for her obvious mental illness. She should also have her parental rights removed and not be allowed in the presence of children as a guardian figure.
Very selfish woman indeed.

OMG! Now the dr is blaming the mother? It's HIS job to report this sick stuff and he FAILED the child. I hope the courts lock him up, he's just as sick as the preditor.

I can't believe they arrested the doctor.. What BS!! The doctor cooperated with police and told them everything and they used his own statements against him...Everyone pay attention to what I just wrote,,

The doctor in my opinion regardless of his so called excuse of ignorance in proper reporting conditions had a responsibility and this is a known fact ----to report the allegations or suspicions that were relayed to him.It is unethical and morallt reprehensible that he would even try to find excuses for his actions rather than admitting as I believe deep doen that he knows he failed in his duties as a professional and as a human.

Is the doctor than not actually contributing to the abuse if he has been told that such is occurring yet is willing to wait along with the parent until they have enoug "evidence"--I just hope there is enough "evidence" to convict the both of them as they have contributed to the life sentence of this child.

Please tell me you are kidding! She put the doctor in jepopardy? This innocent child is at the doctor because his idiot mother knows he is being abused and the doctor, who has an absolute obligation as a professional caregiver, takes the word of this idiot mother who just fell off the turnip wagon. You need to look at the fact that this child is innocent. I don't care that the doctor GOT HIMSELF ARRESTED, I don't care if the PO-PO arrests the mom! Help the kid! The South Windsor cops did an excellent job because the one thing doctors understand is money. Now they will think twice before they say, "Bring Johnny home and get evidence that some mentally disturbed adult is boinking him"! The problem with this world is that society wants the law enforced when it is convienient for them.
