Wynot Church Lives On As Couple's Home

I know this family, they're all lovely people, and the people of Wynot should be ashamed of themselves for how they treated this family. I was born in Omaha, and Wynot makes me embarrassed to be a native Nebraskan.

Is Ms. Wuebben going to do a follow up article about why the Lennoxes left?

And why, good woman, would Mr. Lennox leave his "dream home" just 8 months later? I'd take Mr. Salizar's suggestion and write a follow up story about their autistic son getting a raw sausage in his Halloween bag, or the fact that their house was shot at, or perhaps how Mrs. Lennox was followed to work. Maybe a story about how members of the Wynot city council openly referred to them with derogatory terms for Jews. I've met all four members of this family, but that's beside the point. No human being should be subjected to what they were subjected to. Running a family out of your town? You must be celebrating.

How is it that a man comes to possess property that is sacred, treats it with dignity and respect and yet is shown none by the people that surround him? People who engage in such acts are by no means following the teachings of any god, Christian or otherwise, and will not escape the consequence of their actions.

Nebraska has shown itself to be the embarrassment of the nation in its treatment of the Wilcoxes. The entire country should know of the harassment and evil that were visited upon this young family by a town full of ignorant, backwards trash. The town of Wynot will be forever linked with illiterate, redneck hatred instead of the simple love and good will towards men that our Lord preached.

I grew up in a small town in the Texas panhandle, and our next door neighbor was an old woman who survived the holocaust. Our town never treated her with anything less than respect. The people of Wynot acted outrageously toward the Lennox family and proves to me that not only is Texas mislabeled as "redneck paradise," but that the new holder of that title is Wynot, Nebraska. How would this town had treated my next door neighbor from childhood?

sdl: What part of the story am I personally missing to justify members of the school board cursing at Cory's daughter, or the family being called "Dirty Jews" by members of the city council.
What would also justify, for instance, Cory and Darla's son, who has special needs mind you, being given a burnt greasy sausage in his trick or treat bag on halloween? What am I missing that justified that? I believe he was 9 last Halloween.
What am I and everyone else on this board who are "judging" missing, exactly, dear? What did the four Jews do to the 200 Christians that justified any of these behaviors?
