Sex Offender working at your new RUSH

Mathew Todd Marion is a member of management at your new Rush in Cleveland, TN. He was convicted of Second Degree Sexual Assult in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was required to register by the State of Texas and failed to do so. The information I have provided below will take you to the facts. The Rush has chosen to ignore the fact that Marion has been fired from three other jobs for fighting then moved to Texas and brutally assulted his ex-wife. If you, the people of Cleveland have a problem with someone like this working in a place like the Rush, please inform the Rush of your concern. Take out five minutes to search Nueces county, Texas web site. Click on the left hand side "Civil/ Criminal Case search" You have to register to see the public info, but it ony take five minutes to get a response. Once you get a response, go back into the link above with your password and log in. Look up SID # 10137642
In big letters you will then see SEXUAL ASSULT

I can't believe he is a member of management at the Rush. The Rush obviously don't care about the safety of their members and their children since they let a sex offender " manage" their facility...

Looks to me like people in Knox have WAY too much free time on their hands. These people need to get a life and stop worrying about this man and his past. There is NOTHING in his criminal history about being fired from any jobs. And this is confidential info so no previous emnployeer will give that out. That is more than likely all made up. As for him working there I do not care. It's not like he is going to rape someone in a club full of other people. if you are worried about it then don't go by yourself.
And just so you know - there are LOTS of places that you go into everyday and take your kids into also that employee sex offenders. If they spend time in jail after they are released most times they are required to hold down a job. This means someone has to hire them. So anyone working anywhere such as a movie theater, fast food resturant, grocery store, wal mart, you name it. They could have a past too. You just don't know it. He is not hurting anyone. So these people so worried about this need to not go to The Rush and quit trying to cause problems for this guy!

You are in the minority on this. He is supposed to register as a sex offender and he hasn't. That is how people know can find out where sickos like this reside. People shouldn't have to "take a friend" somewhere to feel safe. People can find out if he was fired for fighting at the places I have listed in the Knoxville Topix. Future employers can't, but there is nothing against the public knowing this information. You are either his friend or the actual sicko himself. No one is trying to cause problems for him, he has brought it upon himself, by trying to live above the law and hide from his criminal actions.

He was fired from Oak Ridge Dodge for fighting in 2001.(Didn't go well, I hear)
Fired from Jim Cogdill for fighting
and fired from Extreme Auto for fighting

Don't you feel like the victum should feel a since of justice? 180 days in county jail for this crime is a crime in it's self. He is not being monitored in TN like is supposed to and he is supposed to be registered in Texas and TN. That is the punishment the judge set forth and he is not abiding by any of it. If he was registered and did everything required of him according to his punishment, none of this would be posted. Having to explain all of this to you makes me feel like you have been fooled by this guy or you are the guy.

First of all when it comes to a violent crime such as this one it is my by business. I certainly don't want some convicted sex offender bieng my personal trainer..No thank you. Some trainers will make house visits.. This man raped a woman in front of a child!! It's not like he got caught speeding or running a red light. It shows what kind of person you are defending this guy. Someone that commits a crime in this nature is most likely to do it again. Lets hope it's not one of the Rush's female members..Then they would have a huge lawsuit on them now wouldn't they?

Let me tell you another thing, I go to Walmart all the time and if there was a convicted rapist that works there I have every right to know. If a rapist lived next door to me I have every right to know!! If someone raped your wife or child would you want him to be around other women or children all the time w/o them knowing? He is required to register as a sex offender in the State of TN and he has yet to do so. Until then as far as I'm concerned everyone he is is contact with has a right to know.

I never said you didn't have a right to know. I just said they are working everywhere and you don't know who they are. So why is everyone making such a big deal out of this ONE case. If you had complete names of everyone who works at Wal Mart and the fast food places you eat in you might be suprised what you would find. You have completely missed the whole point of this thread. The point is he is not registered when he is supposed to be. You can't find him on the sex offender website because he did not register. So, with that said, how is anyone to know that they are being trained by a convicted felon.

I see your point. I did look on the Convicted Sex Offender Website and could not find anything.
But if The Rush does not care then there doesn't seem to be a lot anyone can do except take their business elsewhere. Yes, people have a right to know about it. But you would be suprised how many are everywhere and no one knows who they are.

Does it really matter that there are lots of sex offenders working at places we all go? Is that the point? Or is it the point that THIS particular violent sex offender is working in a position of authority at a place where young girls to women of all ages go to work out, often times in outfits that they wouldn't wear to Wal-mart? I, too, think you've missed ConcernedVol's point. I don't consider it having too much time on my hands to look into the allegations made on the Knoxville site when 8 members of my immediate family go to the Rush on a daily basis, 4 of us female. I don't know how safe you'd feel putting your wife or daughter in that type of immenent danger, but with the world being the way it is, and the fact that there are likely sexual predators "everywhere you go," as you say, why knowingly place your loved ones in harms way when you don't have to? One in four women are raped in their lifetime. Those odds are just a little too high for me to thumb my nose at the fact that I'm putting myself, and those I love, in the face of a violent convicted felon when I know what and who he is. With those percentages, it's likely you know someone who has been sexually assaulted, and if you know someone who has been sexually assaulted, then you know what it does to your life. You can't do anything about coming in contact with predators you aren't aware of...but you can certainly do something PROACTIVE to lesson those percentages. When it comes down to my safety or jeopardizing some guy's job that can't even follow the rules set forth by a court of law and register as court ordered to, I choose me. You don't have to like it.

FYI - I was a member of the Rush long before this guy started working there...so why should I quit just because he can't follow the law? That's like saying all females should stay in the house if they don't want to get attacked. Problem with that is, they'll find you anyway, so instead of suggesting every female concerned for their safety just reorganize their lives to suit this felon, why not suggest this felon do what he was ordered to do and follow the guidelines of his probation. He hasn't hurt anyone? Tell that to the woman he violently attacked in front of her 18 month old child. Good God, what is wrong with you?

I think everyone, including JusticeIsServed, is fully aware that there are sexual predators everywhere...we certainly don't need you to tell us that. You seem so glib about this situation...let's see how glib you are when it's you or your loved one that's been violated by someone like this. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but remember those odds? And they didn't just move him to another location...he'd been moved before this story broke. They seem to me to be trying to figure out how to get out of this gracefully, hopefully without being sued to the gills when he loses his temper, which is merely a matter of time.

Sounds like maybe you know this guy pretty good (or) could you be Mr. Marion?

It is a shame, but the DA in Corpus said that the state of TN does not require him to register as a sex offender even though the judge ordered it. If he lived in Texas he would have to register as a sex offender. The DA said that even though he plead guilty and took the plea bargain he was not convicted??? How can you plead guilty to a crime and not be convicted? Anyway, at least there are a few people out there who are now aware of him and what type of person he is. I know there are a few good people in TN who are thankful of the reseach that has been done to try and protect the community. Maybe the law can be changed in TN. God Bless you all and good luck.

Todd Marion was married to his wife Rachel. She decided to take up with another man Jeremy Harris with whom she had a child conceived while married to Todd. When she told Todd about the relationship he reacted in an inapprioprate way that caused him to spend 5 months probation in Nueces County Jail in Texas. The charge was not rape and he has no felony conviction on his record. As this was a deferred ajudication he has no felony conviction.
