Ohio Christian school tells student to skip prom

I think first, principal is the correct spelling. Secondly, the problem with adults is they make too many rulz they know kids are going to break. Join the real world, oh holier than thou. Seems to me there are way too many judges and not enough judgees. Judge not lest ye be judged. And don't throw the Bible back as an answer. Since when does hand holding or rock music send a sould to hell? And no, it doesn't always lead to other things. Give this younger generation some credit. Find another battle to fight.

I say the boy and his parents should get a lawyer and sue his school. His school has NO right to tell him what to do outside of school. He deserves to go with his girlfriend.

THIS SCHOOL is a throw back to when those teachers could not get a date and go to any prom. Every student should protest. What is next? When you go to a private school you agree to abide by their rules and regulations. If you don't want to abide by them then you don't have to go to the school. He was told what would happen before he went. It appears to me going to the prom was more important than being a part of his own school. This has nothing to do with the decision the school made, it has everything to do with the decision the student made.

I went to a private school. Graduated from one. They are not just educational institutions they are character building institutions. There were certain activities we were not allowed to participate in. To do so would defeat the purpose of what was trying to be done and undermine the school.

The school I went to was not a Baptist School and it was not run by a church. Principles were taught, and guidelines were expected to be followed. This was all clearly agreed upon, not only by me, but by my parents. So the rules applied even off campus. Most Christian schools, not all though, are set up the same way. If that is the case here and the agreement is in writing, a lawyer probably wouldn't be able to do a thing.

It doesn’t say that you have to agree with them, but that we will all abide by them. What kind of a school would we be if we suspended a policy because it was convenient to do so?
