A small correction;
That may be well and true but at least they aren't trying to cut services to the poor just in order to avoid doing away with their ultra rich buddies tax breaks.
They are like Robin Hood in reverse. The take from the poor and give to the rich.
What they fail to understand (or maybe they do) is that more profit does not equal more jobs. Just the opposite,
Did you know when the auto industry was at its peak in America it operated on just 3 percent profit? This was because they worked hard on keeping the sales volume high. In industry, small profit margins are made up for by increasing the demand. How do you increase volume? More employees.
A highly profitable industry is less likely to aggressively seek increases in demand because of the greater expense to profit ratio.
"cutting services to the poor" ?

Example please; I don't know of these, besides "Welfare Reform" and that actually worked for the entirety of America.

FYI the welfare reform act was referenced in the way you used "cutting services to the poor".

But, we have alliances with Europe, and they will never be able to do without the oil from the Arab world. The best we can hope for is to eliminate our reliance on it.

...also "the poor" have nothing to take.

Have you ever signed a contract with a poor person to maintain their servers?

You ever perform a site survey for a poor person?

Ever meet a poor person looking to donate to a charity to knock a little off of their taxes?

Have you ever taken the elevator to the upper floor of a high rise in Cincinnati to discuss a business deal with the poor person in charge.

Did you mean "Working Class Poor"? You know...the one's Democrats steal from and then redistribute to others nations, for bullshit programs.
See my side of the argument?

Watch your mailbox!!!

Just wanted to let you know - today I received my 2012 Economic Stimulus Package.

It contained two tomato seeds, cornbread mix, a prayer rug, a machine to blow smoke up my ass, 2 discount coupons to KFC, an "Obama Hope & Change" bumper sticker, and a "Blame it on Bush" poster for the front yard. The directions were in Spanish.

Watch for yours soon.

Drilling has its risks. But, we've developed equipment and procedures that significantly minimize that. ANWAR will undergo the same level of exploration that exists in places like East Texas and south Louisiana. There was a time when the environmental aspects weren't considered that significant of a concern. That isn't true today. Considering the number of wells drilled and the number of producing fields there, the attention to environmental concerns and the ability to do things like catch fish in the immediate vicinity is remarkable. I would expect the same attention to apply to ANWAR.
I also think we should drill the massive geologic structures off the coast of southern California, and the limestone structures of Florida.
There is projected to be enough reserves in those 3 areas to eliminate our need to import oil, even at our current rate of consumption.
Safe like BP and Halliburton drilling?

Well, wtf....the day I was born in America it became my country. That doesn't mean it's not your country too, if you too were born here.

Futhermore, I did not write that piece. It was titled,

"MY KIND OF AMERICA."

It came in my Inbox from a friend. I take no credit for it, but I do believe it wholeheartedly.

Hey AL:

Again......I did not write,

"MY KIND OF AMERICA."

A picture of the dude who allegedly wrote this looks to be about the age of a Nam vet. Sprawled against a Harley Davidson laid back. But obviously the picture will not post on here.

The third part of the article goes like this:

"Americans needs to stand up for America .

We've bent over to appease the America-haters long enough. I'm taking a stand.

I'm standing up because the hundreds of thousands who died fighting in wars for this country,
and for the American flag.

If you agree, stand up with me. If you disagree, please let me know.
I will gladly not forward things of this order.

And shame on anyone who tries to make this a racist message.

AMERICANS, stop giving away Your RIGHTS !

Let me make this clear! THIS IS OUR COUNTRY !

This statement DOES NOT mean I'm against immigration !

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE, IN OUR COUNTRY, welcome to come legally:

1. Get a sponsor !

2. Learn the LANGUAGE, as immigrants have in the past !

3. Live by OUR rules !

4. Get a job !

5. Pay YOUR Taxes !

6. No Social Security until you have earned it and Paid for it !

7. NOW find a place to lay your head !

If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone,
then YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM !

We've gone so far the other way ... bent over backwards not to offend anyone.

Only AMERICANS seem to care when American Citizens are being offended !

WAKE UP America !!!

The EU countries are currently the global leaders in the development and application of renewable energy. The Directive on renewable energy sets binding targets for all EU Member States, such that the EU will reach a 20% share of energy from renewable sources by 2020 and 50% by 2030, only 19% of the population think the directive to be too ambitious. Renewable energy research includes Biofuel, Geothermal, Wind power, Solar energy, Photovoltaic solar power, Solar heating and cooling, Wave power, Hydrogen fuel. The green energy sector in the EU employs well over a 100,000 workers. At this rate, the Unites States will hopelessly fall behind in the green technology sector by concentrating on domestic fossil fuels, once these sources dry up, the US, again, will have to depend on imported technology!

Are the people of CA, for or against the United States of America? Green power is very important and I am for it, But we have other important situations in America! Like closeing the port of L A to all china trade! The trade that is killing the rest of America! Are you as worried about that as you are green power?
