Now the point of this post. I would like to read some feedback ...Here goes.
On driving thru KY on I65 some of us notice the row of pyramid shaped hills between Lebanon Jct and Brooks.( roughly MM 105-MM121) They sure stand out, very distinctly. One of the clearest signs of past (and present) seismic activity in this area.
The same stretch of interstate seems to require more repair more frequently than any stretch of road I have driven. The last big repair was completed about 2 1/2- 3 years ago. Within six months mother nature was again beginning to twist the road up. Esp. on the southbound side. While I have not been across there in a year, I would bet it's starting to get in bad shape again.
Being that the New Madrid fault line is the biggest in the U S.(I'm pretty darn sure that's correct) And so close to the Louisville area I am surprised there is not more info and preparedness training in the area. I believe there is a lessor fault line (or part of the new Madrid) that goes across KY just south of Louisville.
New Madrid is way overdue for a 6.0 or greater. An earthquake of this magnitude, with an epicenter 150-200 miles n/e of New Madrid Mo would be most devastating to the Louisville area.
One thing for sure science does not know all. We may be sitting on a monster of a fault no-one is even aware of...Thanks

The methane gas theory killing the birds got my interest in the Madrid Fault earthquake that made the Mississippi River run backwards my dad had told me about. Actually the research I did said it could split the U.S. from the Great Lakes to the Gulf with all the water destroying much in the region. The map that showed this has it taking out most of South and South Western Kentucky amd I would be cleared slightly in my northern little part of the state. I didn't go back and open all those sites and reread them etc...but I think it was posted in one of them. Kentucky is vulnerable anyway due to our lakes, caves and sinkholes. Thus, the posting of the earthquake reports and the survival kit and tips to have a chance when the SHTF. Wether it be the Madrid Fault, EMP terrorist attack, solar flares blackout, mass police state, with a lot of tips coming just from the power outage and problems with the ice storm a few years back. Very informative information for being prepared for about anything thanks to our union trying to figure out what happen to the birds, then the fish, cows, etc...

Here are the sites that had the maps where the Madrid Fault could divide the States. One is a US Navy map. Very interesting. On all of them from Cayce's to the Mayans has part of Kentucky being spared. Luckily I am closer to Ind/Ohio than Tn/Ark/Ill. They are interesting and there has been thousands of articles, videos and documentaries about this, alot brought on by the big earthquake in Japan and the birds/fish/animals dying off. Some believe the HAARP machine is responsible for it all. They estimated there are 20 of them across the globe. Scary thought if true. One in Alaska is probably one too many as the bill introduced to the House indicates that I posted earlier.

Brazilian Left Green After ‘Hulk’ Paint Fails to Wash Off

A Brazilian man who tried to transform himself into the superhero “The Hulk” made a major mistake.
Instead of using easy to remove body paint, the man, Paulo Henrique dos Santos, used a paint reserved for ballistic missiles and nuclear submarines.

The result? Dozens of baths, a trip to the doctor, fears of lead poisoning and a level of fame in his local Brazilian town, according to the Brazilian news site Extra.globo.com .

The site reports that dos Santos, a 35-year-old pool attendant from Vila Cruzeiro, painted himself green to go in character as Hulk for a local running event. Long after the run was over, however, the green stain remained.

Dos Santos took more than 20 baths and enlisted the help of family, including his mom, and friends to try to scrub him clean. In order to sleep he had to rest in bed on plastic-lined sheets to avoid staining anything else in his reach, according to reports.

Dos Santos, the site says, became concerned that he was being poisoned by the paint but, after 24 hours and too much scrubbing to count, the paint finally came off.

The UK’s Daily Mail reports that, in addition to his pool duties, dos Santos moonlights as a disc jockey. The paper also reports that, not surprisingly for someone who would dress up as a green superhero begin with, dos Santos enjoyed the attention, including the mobs of children who followed him in the streets.

“I turned a kind of celebrity,” he said.

UK Alumna Chosen to Carry Olympic Torch in London

LEXINGTON, Ky.(May 30, 2012)— University of Kentucky almuna Taylor Amerman has been chosen as one of three students from the University of Nottingham to carry the Olympic Torch as it passes through Britain, leading up to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.

All of the large universities in the United Kingdom were allotted spots for students and staff to be torchbearers, and she was selected as one of the student representatives from more than 30,000 full-time students.

"I was very surprised, excited, honored and humbled to be selected," Amerman said. "I have received other honors in my life, but this was by far the biggest because it was a reflection of my character and values. It is a true honor to be selected as someone who will inspire Britain."

Amerman, who is originally from Louisville, will now join 8,000 others who will carry the torch on its 70-day journey across Britain. She will carry the torch on June 29.

"As an international student, I wanted to be able to engage with the local community and make a difference. I have been fortunate enough to have a lot of blessings in my life and I want to give back by inspiring others," she said.

Last fall, Amerman began attending the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility housed at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. She received a full-tuition scholarship to pursue her master of science in corporate social responsibility.

As an undergraduate at UK, Amerman majored in accounting and minored in community leadership and development. She also participated in research through the Chellgren Fellows Program under Professor Lori Garkovich in the College of Agriculture.

In 2010, she studied abroad at Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on a scholarship from the Southeastern Conference Academic Consortium Global Leadership Program. While in Ireland she took courses covering the topics of business strategy, international business and history of Northern Ireland. She was the only student from UK awarded this scholarship.

Amerman graduated from UK summa cum laude in May 2011.

She is now learning how volunteerism and corporate social responsibility (CSR) cultures vary from country to country to benefit multi-national corporations. Her research will help establish best practices for CSR in international markets and allow companies to have a more efficient and effective impact on their communities. After Amerman completes her graduate studies, she hopes to work for an international corporation implementing meaningful CSR initiatives around the world. She is determined to enable more companies to have a stronger presence in their communities through giving, sustainability, and volunteerism.
