you know, the place that's technically your property, but the city plants trees there? what is your opinion on neighbors that repeatedly walk their dog on a leash everyday to crap ginormous donkey turds on your patch? so that you get to either step in them when you take out the trash or mow over them? could the property owner do anything about it? now the poop tree is attracting other dogs to do the same thing. suggestions...opinions...?

I'm thinking that my property line begins just inside the sidewalk nearest my house. The sidewalk, curb, and patch of grass between it and the street belongs to the city. However, I replace their sidewalk and curb at my expense when needed and mow their grass for free when I mow mine. If their tree falls, they remove it.

My opinion is get some balls and confront them or better yet follow them to their house and dump it on their front step. Take matters in your own hands because the dog warden and the police wont help you!

Actually if the tree falls or they decide to take it down they stack it all in your yard. I know this bc it happened to me. They decided to take it down, then they put it all in my yard- not that patch between the sidewalk and street. When I asked them about it they said it was my problem.
Man up and tell the dog owner to knock it off. Put a sign out that tells them their rudeness won't be tolerated.

usually in most areas those areas are known as 'right of way'... maintained by the city, or county

Ummmm seems I remember someone else on here was complaining about a neighbors dog crapping in their yard and you jumped down their throat for being ticked off about it. Can't remember your exact words but something like they are harmless animals and don't know what they are doing is wrong. Kind of a different story when it's your yard isn't it?

whenever i see anyone's dog shittin in my yard, i hollar out the door an tell them they need to pick that shit up if they dont want it thrown back on their property. When the neighbor guys dog used to shit in my yard, i would scoop it all up and toss it over in his yard. problem solved after doing this a few times. my bb gun shootin his dog in the ass also helped!

ok, well here's where my problem lies: the neighbor guy's kids are the ones who stand in front of their house and let the leash stretch about 10 feet onto my patch of grass to sh*t. we have said things to them, which results in the parents making the kids scoop it a couple of times and then eventually we are right back to giant donkey turds. and plus i know other people's dogs are attracted and 'mark' the tree and poop around it too. it's seriously p*ssing me off, but being the nice person i am, i prefer to only murder people that are of legal age.

I bought an animal repellant device that uses a motion sensor and high frequency speakers to keep dogs off my lawn. It works with two C batteries or it connects to an outlet. The dogs aren't harmed, but would rather s#it where they aren't annoyed. I think it costs about $38 online including shipping.

hmmm, thanks. i always wondered if those things work or were a waste of dough. i saw some spray stuff too, but figured the rain would just wash it away.

I've heard the best way to end the problem is to take bacon grease and paint it on the dog turds. next time out, the dog eats his own turd, and his owner throws up! Of course, you look kinda stupid out there painting dog turds, but what the heck!

I am with you. The dog owners take their dog for a walk so the crap is not in their yard. They do the same thing in city parks and the cemetery.

Some owners are responsible enough to clean up after their pet. They carry plastic zip lock bags to put the crap in. Unfortunately, many dog owners won't clean up after their animal and think that your yard is their yard.

When I discover who owns the dog that craps in my yard I go out to the horse barns and get some manure and place it in the front yard of the dog owner.

There needs to be a law as is in many other communities that requires dog owners to clean up after their mutt. Although you could leave chocolate bars out for the dog to eat. He won't be back if he eats one of those.
