Supporting the troops or pretending like you care?

I saw this today on Facebook: 31 troops were killed in afghanistan today. i know most won't repost this but you should to show support for them and what they do.(or something to that affect)
First of all, I do commend any and all who serve in the military. They are all heroes.
It is things like these ridiculous posts that really irritate me. I know that an overwhelming number of these men and women want out! they want to come home. We have the highest suicide rate among returning soldiers and active military then we ever have before. Our whole reason in going there was to get bin laden. We got him. Mission accomplished! We don't need to be there. We need to leave. They are not a threat to this country. It makes us more unsafe by being there.
If people really cared about what the troops wanted, they'd pay attention as to who they're donating money to for this election, and they'd vote for someone who would bring them home, rather than keeping them there a year after we accomplished our goal and putting them in conflicts that have nothing to do with our national security. putting a sign up in your yard, or a bumper sticker on your car looks patriotic, but are you supporting the actual troops by doing this? No. You're not. Because you don't care enough about them to pay attention as to what the hell is going on in this country.

I served in the army and did my thing but now a days everybody coming home expects a billboard and a statue of them. A real hero does it and expects nothing as a reward.
