All charges were dropped.

If this is true, then it is a perfect example of how corrupt the justice system can be. Extremely sad indeed. The boys inappropriate actions would be once again reinforced by not being held accountable, leading him to repeat such actions again.

I wonder why such a nice community like Jenny Lind allows for such things. I was hoping to see a chance of improvement for their Fire Department. If this boy is allowed to remain on the Department, especially in a leadership role, I can't see how anything will change.

Ill also add that most volunter fireman are a bunch of look at me wanna bes. Most spend more money on lights for thier trucks than on hygiene products. I saw a sticker on ones back glass that said "I fight what you fear" made me wanna jerk his ass through the window

As a new member of the department i knew about some about the arrest. they speak very little of it.. they are very unorganized... but i never knew about the other stuff... I've been on the department for sometime now and still haven't got any kind of training whats so ever.. when they do try to get organized..they get the wrong dates and time.. the leadership in the department is very poor.. i mean is there anyway i could just do training with another department by myself or what.

Any firefighter can train with other departments. You are not limited to receive training in your own department. In fact, it is highly advised to train with other departments! Facebook has a county training page - get with someone reliable (from another department) and find out how to join the group on Facebook. You will be notified on upcoming training sessions via that page.

Meanwhile, you may want to consider joining a different department. If you're serious about becoming an actual firefighter, that's the only way you'll get to do it. JLFD has absolutely no desire to become a viable, reliable and knowledgeable department any more.

You got that right James JLFD is known as the Mickey mouse club stop and thank about who is trying to run it we need John C. back in there he ran it right not like this bull thats going on now he got rid of the trash when he was there after Charley got to the top he got shawn back in it and now look at the mess.

All charges were not dropped he pled guilty to a lessor charge. He is still guilty annd should not ever be allowed on any fire department again

You are right Fort Smith Firefighter. He did plead to a lesser charge. This "Bob" person who says they were dropped is a liar. Which makes me think "Bob" is actually Shawn. I saw on his FaceBook page where he went off on a couple of rants, calling out other departments and saying he was proven innocent. Maybe in his sick mind he thinks pleading to lesser charges equals innocence. Who knows.

So, is he or is he not on the department now? If he is, what's it going to take to get the department to do what's right for Jenny Lind? With the fire season upon us, it is extremely concerning right now.

He is on the department we need to get him off of it before he hurts someone again who can we go to.

I understand he is on probation. I guess in his twisted mind not going to jail is the same as not guilty.

Everyone makes mistakes, huh? You know that frauding people out of their money constitutes MORE than a "mistake" right? Forgetting your spouses birthday, drinking from the finger bowl, THOSE are mistakes. Bilking people out of $ is a crime.

Has anyone looked on his facebook page and seen the remarks he made to his surrounding fire departments? Is there any wonder why none of the other departments don't want him around. He is
a trouble maker and any other department in the county would terminate anyone who publicly made such remarks. His father supports his commits and should both be removed from the department.

I understand JL was paged out last week to help Bonanza and White Bluff on a grass fire. The Chief called everyone and told them not to respond because they were not paged eariler that day to
help.

Serious? Wow. That's a real fire department for you. They didn't show up when requested? It's common practice to stagger personnel in this heat. Oh wait. It's too hot for them to fight a fire. I forgot. Or maybe their excuse of a BLS truck isn't working so Shawn wouldn't have a place to hide during the event.

Now that is funny James but the sad part is it is also the truth.

I wonder why Jenny Lind Fire wasnt ask to help on the Log Cabin Resturant fire ? I heard from a buddy on one of the other "real departments" that quote "We didnt want the lazy incompetent bastards here, so we requested they not be paged" Yep Im so so proud to live in Jenny Lind :(

You know.... they have idiots impersonating city council members in Greenwood and none of them have been arrested yet.....
