Author: Water not as plentiful as many think

Full story: Chico Enterprise-Record

If California's water leaders followed Robert Glennon's advice, the state would find a replacement for flush toilets, get off the ethanol fuel bandwagon and find a way for people to realize that water is not as plentiful as air.

There needs to be a Moon Shot effort to desalinate ocean water and currently unusable ground aquifers in a cheap way.

..."What to do about it"...

There are many options ! One option is to RENT the available AIR SPACE in Lake Mead which holds 28.5 million acre feet and is only half full.( When FULL, Lake Mead generates 2000 megawatts of RENEWABLE ENERGY). No Glennon bothers to mention it, but there is a new non-tributary water Source of a million acre feet a year that could be developed and stored/accumulated in Lake Mead. The delivery system to CA already exists. Adequate storage already exists.

Development of the Source will not damage the environment or the water rights of others ! With cooperation & coordination between agencies/entitites, the water could be delivered to Lake Mead and CA ... WITHOUT POWER !

CA, NV & the Bureau have all been offered a free confidential disclosure of the Source for six years ...

Siemens of Germany has state of the art desalination technology, energy efficient and safe for fish. The Germans have the best technology in the world. We should get it a try.

Good, lets all stop using our toilets.
Human waste is unsafe for recycling mostly because it is undigested red rotten meat and high fructose corn syrup with some Delcolax.

It was very encouraging to read that Damns are on their way out. Hopefully someday soon people will stop building levies.

Yeah let's tear down all the dams, that's a brilliant idea since we have plenty of coal to replace it with.

I'll just bury my poo over in Robert Glennons back yard from now on.

Instead of polluting with coal maybe it would be a better idea if you would go to sleep at a decent hour and eat less. Are you a fat and restless person?
There is I have heard lots of alternatives to pooping in your water. To me it just seems like a disgusting thing to do. With the increase in anchor babies in the southern part of the state filtration cost are only going to get higher for you to drink the water they have pooped in over and over again. What makes it worse is I hear they like there red meat and pork on the raw side. But that seems like what you want to do, so go for it, drink up.
