we are rich in criminal activity, i don't now how the police chief and mr. schussel can assert it is down. it's hard to believe crime was worse before. it seems to grow weekly. those statistics are off, in my opinion.

It was the prior council majority that gave police raises which caused layoffs and Nada exodus by police wanting to abandon Vallejo. Strange you were silent back then.

The only thing up in Vallejo are the wages for the VPOA, and as a result of "cut as many positions as you want...we want to be paid" the number of sworn officers is down.

There will still be a council majority that cares about the taxpayers in June of 2013, in the mean time doesn't it just chap your posterior that the new council majority will be spending all that new tax revenue elsewhere?

O'RLY? No decision on where to spend has been introduced, no priorities have been set by resolution. You are full on nonsense as usual JD, the citizens want more police on the streets and there will be outrage to fund non safety issues after more police bail on us. Wise up, or just STFU, latter preferred.

You mean you want more Police on the streets! You fellows could start by bringing back the Police Reserves.......but then again that would make too much sense and would be too cost effective.

Why doesn't the new majority just direct the CM to make it happen? It's that simple, stop putting the onus on the Chief. This is why cities are run by professional manager and not accountants with little else to do but blog all freaking day because they have no clients.

O'RLY? Look what happened when the council tried to make a citizens police oversight committee, I seem to remember many many whines from you about telling the Chief how to do their job...well which is it?

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aries

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another. Ideally, you should keep yourself amused by doing something that's unusual or challenging, otherwise you'll be tempted to stir up trouble just to see what happens next! Even though you know that's a bad idea, you won't be able to resist, unless you've got something better to do with your time.
