how about these stupid signs finding their way into the trash heap?
signs saying "caution, enter at your own risk" would be more appropriate for the downtown

Get over it, loser
Aren't you sybil from Oakland with a million blog names? If you and Kushan stopped posting, this site would have no posts.
Hater, you want Vallejo to fail -- get over it, we aren't!
Quit your job,(or retire) and move to Tahoe or El Dorado Hills and maybe you can recover from your all-consuimg hatred of Vallejo.

How about giving a few of those large arrow signs to the Guardian Angels so they can stand on street corners directing heavy traffic of shopaholics to beautiful downtown Vallejo..give me a break.

The meeting was canceled because the members couldn't find their way to it due to lack of signs.

Here's an economic development idea...peddle a net TV show, CSI Vallejo, and the only signs you need downtown is that yellow crime scene tape!

Why do we have a Design Review Board whose members don't take their "jobs" seriously enough to show up? This is the same Board that couldn't find enough replacement citizens who wanted to be on it, that the application deadline was extended!

Maybe the City should eliminate this and several other boards to save money. If the board members aren't interested enough to show up, then get rid of the Board!

MY God. What insanity from the Downtown Business Association. Funny before the National Economic/credit meltdown people knew how to get to downtown Vallejo. They still know how to get there if they want to. Short memory eh. Wasn,t a special two year construction done building a "new improved' lower Georgia St. corridor up from the Ferry Building to the lovely downtown business distict ? Cut the crap with the sign. Vallejo,s city leaders need to roll up their sleeves and encourage businesses to come here. Can,t you see the surviving Downtown businesses are going insane! Thia is not a funny or sarcastic situation. It,s quite serious and action needs to be taken now. We don,t need another Montana Jack,s/commmercial business landlord fiasco. By the way does anyone care what happened with that? Vallejo(not Oakland) Glenn

Because Gomes and Marti Brown when they sued the City as members of the Waterfront Coalition, agreeed to a settlement and one of the terms was to create this Board as separate bureaucracy that took power away from the Planning Commission. Hey wait...Marti and Gomes are on Council now, Kim White, another Waterfront Coalition member, is on the Design Review Board...it's like a school reunion!! Watch out developers...

You are wrong. Gomes did not vote to sue the city. She left the Waterfront coalition way before that decision came down. Many who were part of that group disagreed with the decision to sue. Many. People with l-o-n-g memories. Why? because the taxpayers ended up paying all legal fees FOR BOTH SIDES. And all we got out of it is a design review committee. That doesn't have enough members to vote on anything. Ugh.

We are really gonna waste time and money on some ridiculous sign directing people to Downtown? Are you serious? I would have to think long and hard for a bigger waste of time and money. Is that what these boards are designed to come up with? If so get rid of them. We have city council for dumb decisions, we don't need another group.
Maybe the sign should point out where 201 Maine, The Crest etc. are, that would be a public service.

Has anyone ever been asked by anyone how to get to the downtown? Why do we continue to focus on a area that is a lost cause. Just because many of our elected officials live in that area does not mean we should continue to waste money.

I've been noticing multiple resignations from a variety of boards and commissions over the last year or so. Tonight there is another one from the Planning Commission. Seems to be an epidemic of loss of interest to either work for or serve the City of Vallejo.
