how is winona

i was thinking about relocating and was wondering if anyone could give some insight on your town

My wife and I, comfortably retired in Massachusetts, but wishing a move to a more genteel Southern atmosphere, are trying to get information about Winona, MS; I was born and raised in the Deep South and miss it, but not the urban sprawls that have infected the communities where I once grew and festered. Can anyone please help? Thank you.

If you are serious about a small town that is friendly and not so much nosy, then I would suggest that you inquire about my hometown of Duck Hill Ms. The people there are down to earth and very helpful to outsiders. Since you and your wife are retired then this place is the answer to peace and quiet. I would ask that you scout out land on either East 404 or West 404 the atmosphere is just what you would want. There is practically no hard crime just the ocassional hotrod or the "Otis Campbell" want to be.Andy and Barney job in Mayberry is tougher than in Duck Hill. I must admit that your shopping will have to be in either Grenada or Winona, but we have been doing it for years. It only a scenic ride 12 miles either way. So come on down. Before I close I will remind you that every year there is a Blues Festival that is held on the outskirts of town and it is a blast.
