Many men stay in abusive relationships; I doubt this was the first time she has hurt him or blamed it on drinking. If this had been a woman hit by a man behind the wheel, the story would look different. It should not. He should contact CASA or another agency to learn about his rights.

There's another story here if this paper would follow up! It goes like this, why did they have to transport this victim by helicopter to El Paso for treatment when we have several hospitals here? Have all our doctors moved to El Paso? Can you imagine the cost of that ride and I'm sure we te tax payers are picking up the bill. Get with it Las Cruces, figure this out or let El Paso annex us into there city!!

Shouldn't she be charged with AGGREVATED DWI since she caused bodily injury? Or does one have to have a penis in order to get that charge?

University(formerly Thomason) Hospital in El Paso is the ONLY trauma hospital in our area, that is why he was transported THERE and trauma is why he was transported by HELICOPTER - thew only valid complaint that could be extrapolated out of your rant is that Las Cruces should have a trauma center so these types of injuries could be treated here at NM tax per expense?

On reviewing the story again, it seems these two are bad news for each other. Now that all of their dirty laundry is out in the open, they may come to their senses and cut each other loose. You should only be with someone who brings out the best in you and the actions it appears each of them took caused an adult version of the terrible twos. No excuses this is bad all around.
