Hopefully the El Paso Times will give the public an impartial view of all the candidates. They have not done so in the past. Although they do have a lot of coverage it is often biased in favor of their preffered choice. PLEASE help El Paso and ge it right this time.

We need to weed out all the individuals running for office that have been implicated in corruption. El Paso needs to elect people with ethics and integrity! Many of our elected officials are playing musical chairs! Vote for individuals best qualified to lead!

Nothing will change unless people actually make an informed vote, otherwise it will be the same old game of musical chairs.

I thought she was the best candidate until I heard about Rosa Cervantes. That's we decided to back Cervantes.

An experienced administrator does not make a great District Clerk. Its the same recycled politicians that do nothing great for our county/city. I have experience working at the District Clerk office.

Isn't Rosa Cervantes related to the lawyer by the same last name that represented Betti Flores? I mean really! Is there any decent candidates out there that aren't connect in some way to the public corruption scandal?

Geez, is this correct? I don't recall the name of the attorney that represented Betti Flores. We sure don't need candidates connected to scandal! I guess we need to do our homework.........

As a resident of the the Canutillo ISD I have seen Sergio Coronado in action, and I am not impressed! First of all he was first seen with County Clerk Gilbert Sanchez as he was been followed by television news reporters wanting some answer's into the allegation's of corrruption. Then in an other blog by someone calling themseleves 'Oh Please' he was accused of having his brother as cheif of staff at the county clerks office, and of having his wife (Coronado) working for Gilbert Sanchez. Mr. Coronado has not done anything positive as past and present school board trustee president, in fact we are in bad shape as far as the district is concern. Mr. Coronado and his puppet school board trustees have made damaging discision's in the running of the Canutillo ISD.(honoring friends in naming school's after them) In no way shape or form am I trying to insinuate or paint a "false light" of Mr. Coronado, every statement is of my desire for ethic and "Fair Comment". I do not believe that Mr. Coronado would make a good County Judge, and that is my opinion there are just too many question's surrounding him, as the rest of the political pool we have to chose from. Several bloggers have suggested we need new blood and I agree with them.

Two and a half years as a lower-level employee in the District Clerk's office do not qualify you for the top spot. Get a few more years of experience under your belt before you go for the brass ring.
And this forum is not a candidate's pulpit.
Yet you're the one that posted Norma Favela's website! It's obvious you're wanting to get her name out this forum, which you've done!

My two and a half years is WAY more than what half the candidates have done in the District Clerk office, so besides the current District Clerk...I'm one of the only candidates with actual experience working there. Besides, are you saying I should work as an administrator for an office for 20 years, do nothing productive for our county and than run for District Clerk...an office I've never went to....its time for change, time for new blood, and time for real people to help make a real difference. Our tax money is on the line and we can't keep letting the usual common named individuals waste it. P.S. This may not be a forum for candidate's but yet I'm not related to any judge's, lawyers, politicans and/or no one is my puppet master....so I am doing what I can to get my name out there. Apparently its working as people look at my site and try and take my slogans....check out both sites now and you'll see what I mean. Thanks

I think you're right! I've been saying we need new blood. Everyone on this forum will agree we need someone not related to anyone in office and especially no one with baggage. Jeremiah may be the candidate of choice! I'll be calling you to talk politics!

Don't vote for Veronica Escobar again! She hasn't done anything here in my area since she got elected. We've called her office at least 7 or 8 times about problems we had at Thomason hospital and the nasty way the county has kept Ascarate Park and she has yet to return calls. I can't believe she wants to run for county Judge!!!!! she can't even take care of her district much less the whole county. I did vote for her last time but there's no way I'm going to vote for her this time around. NO WAY!

Sir Mix A Butt we don't have much of a choice from our pool of candidates, although it might seem like cesspool, we are hoping for someone not connected to the people in office right now. It is truly a sad situation for El Paso to have so much mistrust in our local government. We are famous for shady government elected officials to corrupt school board trustees, from one end of the school district to the other end of the school district. People's names have had to be removed from school's for corruption and we still don't seem to get the message across to present school board trustees. Sir Mix A Butt, they (corrupt) crooks seem to multiply like rat's!

Ok who cares if Rosa Cervantes might be related to that lawyer. If she can improve El Paso then I am all for it. And if any of you ignorant people look up her back round "Cervantes" actully is her married last name. Her Maiden last name is Martinez. So before you jump the handle you need to get your informantion. She is working very hard for what she wants. As I can see and read. If you think you can do a better job at this well then run. So people can put you on blast too.
