Where did the Vineyard go there at Nut Tree Village. It's been gone for a while and haven't found any information on that.
Also out on 505 it appears that Hines Nursery is going out of business. What happened there? A sign of the times perhaps. I remember when the glider port and the nursery were out in Lagoon Valley. Being told to leave I believe because there was big corporate Bank of America coming. Then Kaiser was coming etc. Seems to me they got the shaft.
Vacaville isn't the same as it was 25 years ago when we moved here. They allow all the rift raft signs poked into the lawns, landscape all over the place. Creepy robotic mannequins for business advertisements. It's gotten so cheap and gross anymore.
Not to mention those that make a living begging on every corner. It appalls me to see that. One that I call Captain Kangaroo there at Costco a lot of the time. His nice blue king cab truck parked there at Costco or the furniture place. He has been begging for a couple years there I think it is. Don't get me wrong. I know the times are hard. I understand the rug being pulled from under you. I too know hard times. But for those to make a living out of begging for others to donate their hard earned living to. Doesn't sit right with me.
Vacaville caters to a lot of nonsense to me. They look the other way. Come on now. I also remember a certain council person that didn't want any "Box Stores" coming to Vacaville. That it cheapened the area. Really?? that cheapened the area? Hmmm How's that working for you now. Look around at what's really the reason.
We were out of town last week and heard people talking about Vacaville Ca. and how it has gone downhill. The actual word they used was "ghetto". We sat there and looked at each other thinking OMG we live there.
Seems that Vacaville isn't "the" place that people want to come any longer. Sad.

That whole nut tree village/crappy strip mall was a big fiasco from the start. I also noticed that it appears that Hines is cutting way back but that really has no effect on the city since they are way outside the city limit boundary. I'm still wondering what happened to Bricks.

Maybe Bricks left after they found out that store at the end of the building is haunted from back when the surplus store was there and a guy got. Shot.

Sentence fragments? Yew done went 2 skool in Vaccy-ville?

Is there a city the size of Vacaville that has no beggars? Tell me the name of that place and how they keep them off corners and parking lots. Our city should do whatever it takes to get rid of panhandlers. As for Vacaville being a "ghetto," that's silly. Anybody who said that probably really does live in a ghetto and is just trying to act smug. Vacaville is a beautiful city. If you don't like the way it looks... Well, do something about it instead of complaining.

I do my best to prettify Vacaville by wearing my best pink or other pastel colored frocks and flowered Easter bonnets around town as much as I can.

Downtown is infested with bums. Last week at 8:30 am going to dentist. Was approached and asked if I had 91 cents. Usually have one sitting at cvs. After dark a bunch of them hanging out at the old taco bell on parker st. Way too many hobos in vv
