Solano County residents happy but cautious about gay marriage ruling

Full story: The Reporter

For a number of Solano County residents, Tuesday's victory by same-sex marriage advocates in the overturn of Proposition 8 was a day of triumph, although others see the win as just one step in a journey that still has a long way to go.

These morons don't even know what this particular decision was even about. This was expected from the ninth circus and all it did was to not overturn a previous ruling by the gay judge.

I had an unpleasant encounter with a family member who was heehawing and gloating over this ruling. I tried to explain that nothing had really changed; it is still headed to the Supreme Court.
Then, I mistakenly tried to post on the Gay Marriage thread you can always find at the top of our forum. Wow, what a blood bath.
Why are the gays so celebrating. True, this is a victory but there are more hurdles. The gays will not listen and so many of them are absolutely vicious.

You think we don't know about hurdles?? Every tiny step toward equality is worth celegrating. Finding an employer who had an equality in hiring policy was a victory. Finding a new Sunday breakfast spot that welcomed us was a victory. Finding a doctor that would treat my partner's tumor was a victory. Finding out that all our friends were TRUE friends was the biggest victory of all for us. Equal rights will come in this country. The founding fathers set up the mechanism, and so far in our history, it has prevailed every time. If we the people ever decide to dispence with the Constitution, that is when I find another place to live. Until then, I'll fight for my rights right here, and have my celebrations as often as I can.

I don't really have a problem at all with gay marriage. It will eventually happen and people will just have to get over it. I think one of the problems are that maybe the older generation have not been exposed to gays like the younger generations have. Most younger(under40) people have interacted with someone gay through school or work. They seem to be more open to marriage because gays aren't scary or a mystery to them. Times have changed drastically the last 40-50 years and gay marriage will eventually be the norm.

Love wins out, huh? Even your "poster couple" for gay marriage failed, and until there's another vote, these are the CURRENT numbers.

We the people already decided what we wanted with prop 8. Just round up all of your gays, go to Antarctica, and set up a little fairy colony. You can have all the gay crap you want so you can stop ruining my country by forcing your disgusting lifestyle on the rest of us.

Now THIS picture IS in the USA. PLEASE don't tell me that you thought this picture was taken in an actual Muslim country.
You're saying that 1 out of every 6 people on the planet is gay, huh? Care to share the source of this? I can roughly estimate that between family, extended family, friends and co-workers, I know about 250 to 300 people. None of them are gay. According to your "numbers", at least 40 to 50 of them should be gay. Now there ARE a few very attractive women out of that group that are bi-friendly (ain't nothin' wrong with THAT), but you need to show your sources if you're gonna spout off insane numbers like that.
1 our of every 6....RIGHT !
Also, if we stop breeding 24/7, there will be no human race left. Are the gays gonna keep the species going?

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
