We should all go back to riding horses for transportation. Much less of a hassle, safer, and a great excuse for alot of things. Sorry, mother-in-law, can't come to visit! Buffalo is just too far a journey. Ah, glory days.

It's the 21st Century for god sake! How they treat women, children and animals is abusive (in my opinion). I passed them on Route 12 when it was 98 degrees and this poor black horse was pulling this loaded wagon up hill(in unbearable heat) with no water. It's Disgusting & disturbing to me!!! Where is the human society in all of this?

Idiots wrote: I was driving down Honey Hill rd after a round of golf at Newport, and two amish teen males pull right out in front of us coming off a dirt path. I slam my brakes on and almost broad sided them by 20 ft max. When I hit on the horn the horse jumped and the kids flipped me the bird. Scum smelly pieces of garbage. The amish in PA are required to have reflectors, and working brake and directional lights along with side view mirrors. This state needs to do the same because one of these days they are going to flip off the wrong person and they will be in the hospital! Smelly F**KERS So, slow down, jackass! They're not doing anything wrong, except for maybe delaying your arrival at the adult 'book' store by 15 seconds. Share the road!

It doesnt matter you check with motor vehicle and see that the horse was on the road first and every car has to obey the horse no matter who's driving

Where is the human society in all of this? where exactly would you expect them to have the water so it was accessible to the horse while it was going down the road? Stap the bucket on the horse so now it has to carry that along with pull the buggy? And drown itself cuz the water is sloshing around in the bucket while its moving and going up the horses nose? They have WORK horses, which is what the horse was doing. Also, I've never seen one of their horses that didn't look healthy, shiny and well cared for. They take better care of their animals and family than I bet you do you do your least favorite pair of underwear. Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about so why don't you just STFU? Nobody wants to hear your ignorant thoughts.

Just as boats have a hierarchy of right of way on the water according to the power source and relative maneuverability, so do vehicles on land. A car is easier and quicker to control predictably, so the car gives the right of way to the horse. Then there's the concept of courtesy ...

Not many, that's for sure!

The Amish are good and decent people. I buy eggs from them in Barneveld and the eggs are delicious. They always have a kind word for me and I think they lead happy lives away from the crap that goes on in the mainstream world.
