Teachers are GREEDY and SPOILED. They want big pay, automatic raises and no accountAbilityAm. Not that many years ago teachers cared about educating the students now all they care about is the next pay check and next day off is coming. Many teachers used to teach into their late sixties and seventies because they enjoyed their jobs. Now the teachers can't wait to retire. They don't even care enough to have their results evaluated.

Your repy is both stupid and ignorant. There is NO where in private sector where you can retire at 55 and collect 60k or more a year for like and have your health insurance paid for. That is BETTEER than winning the lottery. That is a multi million dollar retirement funded by the taxpayers. You are full of it too. I do taxes and I have retired teachers I do taxes for, one gets almost 100k. Go to seethruNY and you will find out you are 100% full of bull. you couldnt have made a stronger point,kudos to you. But,you left out a few names,not only from down town,but at the building level too. new trend now is very bad. You have these young inexperienced,ineffective teachers that spend aboit 4 years in the class room,then they get their c.a.s.and think they are angela administrator. I say angela because for the most part they are young women. You can count the male administrators on one hand. Im not bashing females. Im criticizing those females that happen to be in those positions. They enter administration because they CANT TEACH,or were terrible teachers with no classroom control,they want the power and abuse it,they want the title without having the ability to do the job. ITs clear as day to anyone who has been around long enough. For those people who degrade the older teachers; here are some points for you poor incoherent souls. First if the older teachers are greedy,they wouldnt be retiring at age 55. Secondly, the vast minority of teachers actually retire with a 60k pension. Are there some,of course,the vast minority. The teachers hanging around well into their 60s are the ones making it a bit more difficult for younger people to ontain jobs,not the ones that retire at 55. as for lifetime insurance why do you comment on something you have no clue of? Do you know what the cost of the premium? NO.So until you do Id keep quiet because you certainly sound like you cant afford it.As for who is responsible for teaching students,You got it,teachers are. When the board president and superintendent exhibit some semblance of good character or integrity, I will reconsider. This proposal is better than the first, but still hits the teachers only. No need for teachers to accept this. Let them put the APPR separate, so they can hire back the 60 teachers. If they need more, they shouldn't have agreed to raises for everyone else.

For someone to say teachers are greedy is either comical or ignorant. Thank God they are not teachers. One would ask me,how do you know they are not teachers? Lets just say its a possibility as much a possibility that the poster calling themself teachers are greedy is a BRAIN SURGEON. The other poster is correct in saying that the current contract proposal offered to the utica teachers is Nothing more than what was voted down. The difference is the district offering $25 a day for unused sick time upon retirement instead of $20 a day. Teachers remember zero zero zero based on 5 years ago negotiations. VOTE NO. You get your steps if no agreement is reached anyway. Force your union clowns because they are not for you to separarate the appr from the money. The union body has the right and authority to demand this happens. The union officials work for you. If they do not cooperate contact NUSUT. If they get involved they will find that many more underhanded illegal things are going on within your own local. Let me ask you this; your union proposed and had a tentative agreement for union members get DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP INSURANCE. NOW dids the majority of teachers in your union request this or basically a small minority? WHY WAS THIS IN THE PROPOSAL AND TENTATIVELY AGREED UPON BY YOUR UNION LEADERS? was this one of the most important issues that your union officials were asked to fight for? This insurance can be purchased the same as a cobra plan. It is expensive but can be purchased,just as some teachers purchase for their children that qualify. To have the audacity to negotiate this and give up everything else for the sake of a handful of people is down right insulting and borderline criminal. This union leadership needs to go. FOR THE TEACHERS SAKE ASAP. IF you dont show your solidarity agaainst your so called leaders,your ship will be sinking fast. To those teachers that have been around you have a strong idea of what was said and how true it is. For trhe young teachers,its time to get aliuttle different kind of education for your own good and for your educational future so you dont allow your union to BUFFALO YOU. GOOD LUCK,STICK TOGETHER and tell them TO SHOVE THEIR OFFER UP THEIR A$$.
