Poster #162 You are entitled to your opinion. I still am sick and tired of it all and especially the way people talk on this forum. There is NO need to call people the names that I read and make fun of them if they do live here. Sorry. But once again, if I chose to stay here that should not make me a bad person or what they are calling the people who do want to stay. I am born and raised here and I plan to stay. What you claim about the taxes???? Well..I have to tell you that the taxes are higher than Utica in all the surrounding towns and villages here. No doubt about that. I know many people who live just outside of Utica and their taxes are far higher than mine. As far as half the population paying for the taxes? That's an issue of the whole country, a poor economy etc..Not just the city of Utica and that goes for jobs as well. There are other cities that are struggling to keep business there and corporations. I know that for a fact as I have family who live out of Utica and are worried about losing their job due to the possible closing of where they work. So..once again..you can say what you feel and that's just fine. But I have my own.

I don't care if you believe me it doesn't change the reality. Save your sad excuses because if you truly cared about your "anything will do" utican parents you'd move them to a healthier region with MUCH better healthcare. Save it. It's not my fault you people are generationally repulsive and stupid. You think all this came out of nowhere? HAHAHAHAHHA!
Now it all makes sense Larry. Your "I'm special and everyone else" attitude is directly related to the fact that you didn't build yourself up from nothing...you were babysat by family members and are now employed with a company because of your family and not your own merits. Maybe it's time for you to turn your preaching onto your own life and evaluate that? It's always the people who do the least amount and have had life situations handed to them that think they're the most valuable in this world...always. That's because deep down they really do realize that they can't hack it on their own and need someone else to be their backbone in this world. And no...my evaluation of you didn't come from out of "nowhere" Larry...you laid it all out for all to see...you just don't realize it.

Sorry Larry...but you need to reread the previous posts. You in no way, shape or form "bested me"...lol. The only one who is fixated on anything is you...lamely attempting to try and make yourself feel better about yourself by your posts. Yes Utica has it's negative points...EVERY place does.

let me be clear here... By "getting out" I mean the entire state.

Trading Utica for a surrounding area is like trading a Blue Yugo for a yellow one.

Get out of Central NY - there's nothing left and those in charge are incapable of fixing anything. They can only kick the can down the road until the state steps in and the city is dissolved.

The majority of the Utican population is on welfare. Why in the world would they want to move? They start having babies when there twelve and then one every year to increase there benefits. It's no secret how un-wed welfare moms are supporting there kids and 12 boyfriends. These welfare tribes have better cloths on there kids than the working middle class, more food on there table, free gas&electric, free cell phones, and better health benefits that pays there pregnantcy's for nine months, foot doctors, eye doctors, and dental which most middle class don't have, and a free place to live. Why in the world to you think we have 55,000 people still living in Utica, 30,000 of them are on welfare in which raises county taxpayer taxes every year while twindling a middle class cash strapped tax base which continues to pay people who don't work, and the droves of refugees still coming for the same benefits or better than the working people. On top of that so goes your politicians, so goes the people who live here. Corrupt, greedy, egotictical, brazen bottom feeders. Everyone in Utica seems on the take and create loopholes to continue to use taxpayers money like there own bank accounts and spending more than they have every single year. I remember Uticans hating there city 30 years ago and hanging out in Rome every weekend because they can't stand the shit don't stink elite. You your not going any where and staying in Utica it's because you are in one of the two classes of people just talked about. Sorry folks Utica is the scummiest city in all of NYS. Not worth staying and 50,000 people have already figured it out and left while another 10,000 middle class taxpayers are still trying to leave behind the welfare and politics of Utica and Oneida county.

No your wrong, The Utica/Rome area is a far better place that many well known cities in the USA. It has its problems, but so do many places. Apparently some of the people on this site donít get around much. Check out the article Forbes did on America's Most Miserable Cities:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtbadenhausen/2...
They looked at 10 factors for 200 metro areas and divisions in the U.S. to determine America's Most Miserable Cities. Some are serious, like violent crime, unemployment rates, foreclosures, taxes (income and property), home prices and political corruption. Other metrics we included are less weighty, like commute times, weather and how the area's pro sports teams did. Utica or Rome didn't even make the list, but many places where some of the Nay Sayers on this site brag about sure did. Dont just piss and moam about it do something.

God I love when the unwashed uneducated low earners start to thinking this ridiculous area somehow actually compares to other much better regions. Obviously you DON'T get around and probably think your 40-k shack with a mortgange and taxes for 110k is a "great deal"!

No, I do believe you're wrong. Perhaps the reason Utica/Rome did not make the Forbes list of the most miserable cities could be that the area is too small to matter. Nontheless, it is a place full of people who don't realize just how depressed and miserable they are. People here don't seem to know how to smile. They walk around with blank looks and avoid being nice. What adds to the misery of this place is the lack of culture and entertainment. Seems like many people say that one of the nicest things about Utica is that it is so close to Syracuse or Albany. That really isn't saying much. Utica and Rome are unremarkable. There is nothing here that is not plentiful everywhere else. There is nothing notable or special. This might not be sucy a bad thing if it were not for the fact that it makes the inhabitants very grumpy and mean. I dislike Utica/Rome passionatly.

What apathetic azzhole. Idiot I OWN in Orange county and YES lived in Cali for 4 years, and can go back to Burbank any day with a standing invitation and free lodge in a house that makes yours look like the anchor that it is. Do you NOT think people know what your property values are up here in blackfly country that's frozen 8 months a year? I work all over unlike you public servants that see 12 square inches of CNY all your lives. What other pathetic bleating you got or are we done here?
You've "been around" alright. You never got eight feet from your mother's festering vagina by the sad sheeplike sounds of it.
Now go pretend something else bad to imagine about my life. It's easy to see who is the more capable debater... ergo more successful and self-secure human here. You don't even need to look hard just the obsessed way they hold themselves out just proves how needy and emotionally underdeveloped most of the genetic lepers they have up here are!

You earned the reputation as the prison economy failure community. Don't start attacking the messengers now! You're waving the racist ignorant hillbilly flag and you expect respect? Good luck assholeface! Hope you have many more years up here in hell wallowing in your own self-induced misery! It's the PERFECT gift!

Literacy ca be your friend. The welfare is much more than you realize when you add in all the public servant welfare which is what it amounts to be anyway. Welfare food for the coons costs us 5% of our taxes tops. The police welfare doogoodygood fake hero program costs us 65%. I have a feeling by your educational foundation that you're probably not going to get far or have a very happy ending so deal with the wages of stupidity and an utican upbringing. All your life you're ignorant and stupid and don't even see the real reasons and mechanisms behind it! After all you all always had "all the answers" so why should we stop you now since you're on such a roll... into the gutter!
