Too bad we don't have the death penalty. Patterson should fry, after all didn't he want to kill himself anyway. He just didn't have the balls to kill himself, so he decided to kill someone else. Like he said strap him to the table and lets give the onlookers a show :)
I bet you're a good Catholic too.

Day light was a coming and I wanted to go home. All they needed to do was wait till daylight. They had nothing but time on there but I guess they may have anticipated a shift change and were getting hungary for there donuts and coffee. Maybe that is the truth. Why didn't they wait and Kurt would be alive today if there bellies were growling?

They didn't wait because the state police were going to be taking over. I guess they wanted to let everyone know that they could handle things on their own

I'm not catholic, just want to save the tax payers some money. Maybe if people fried when they killed someone, it might just prevent someone else from doing it. Enough of this politically correct bullshit society we live in where the minority rules and killers get treated like they are some kind of hero. It's stupid liberal peple like yourself that has ruined this country. The answer is not locking these people up, just get rid of the trash. If you feel sorry for these people, you have a probem and should tell someone who cares.

Oh I almost forgot, you Catholic's with your Priest who molest little boys and then cover it up and wait, then to find out that even the Pope knew about this abuse of children and did nothing.

Ok keep tring to give me advise about life. Hell will be a busy place filled with your Catholic's.

Nope, don't feel sorry for Patterson, but I feel sorry for those deputies who did what they were told by their bosses. I feel sorry for Kurt's family having him thrown under the bus by saying he disobeyed orders. Patterson is no hero. The minority should not rule, but you're right, it does. If this were a stand-off where he was aiming the gun at them and fighting them, he SHOULD have been shot on the spot - dead. But none of them ever felt threatened until he was shot with rubber bullets for no reason except to end it. Patterson is not an upstanding citizen but manslaughter should have been the charge. We should all move on with the hopes that the sheriff's administration learned from this. The troopers wouldn't have done that, but we have to look at what happened, not what we wish. Maybe the troopers can train the sheriffs. It has been so hard on those poor deputies who just did their job and will never forget this incident. They have to follow orders and complain later. I wouldn't think they'd even WANT to complain later because they don't want to talk about it.

He was shot first and suddenly without the other deputies knowing they were going to shoot.
There was no reason to shoot Patterson.
Kurt shouldn't have been where he was.
The deputy shooting through the windshield shouldn't have knowing the bullets won't go straight where you're aiming.
Kurt followed orders and wasn't told not to go in.
None of the deputies heard the same thing yelled - no no, go, go, etc.
Everyone said Patterson wasn't a threat to them.
They hadn't had training.
The State Police should have handled it so that Kurt would still be alive.
Why isn't the report finished after all this time and knowing the trial date? I think we all know why.
Why did they jury convict should be your question. I agree manslaughter seems to be a more appropriate charge, but the jury convicted...that's our system. His family may choose to use all that information during the civil proceedings. Outside a successful appeal the criminal case is over.

Grab a gun, start crying, and pretend to kill yourself because of another man, and he left you for a skinny guy.

Facts are facts. He pulled the trigger -- 3 or more times! Shot dead a cop. You people are a bunch of liberal kooks. He had the best lawyer he thought he needed. Jury of his peers sent him to prison for life. Case closed! Move on.

I'll use a baseball analogy. You know when the batter checks his swing and they don't call it a strike because he "didn't intend to swing". What the heck did he go up to the plate to do? You go to the plate to swing and hit the ball right? So when Chris loaded his shot gun, carried extra rounds with him and after the first shot he used the pump action of the gun twice to shoot two more times, I'm pretty sure he had the intent of hurting someone other than himself. Oh, and he did hurt someone. I wonder what its like to know you'll never be able to be free again? I almost think that's worse than death. Cop killers usually don't have an easy time in Auburn, Attica, Sing-Sing or where ever he'll end up.

WRONG, gas is for crowds, rubber bullets are for janitor cowards that are armed.
