The Joanne Pecheone and Kim Simon threads prove that people are intrigued and passionate about these cases and the people's memories. What cold case homicide and/or missing persons case has piqued your interest all these years? Spending a lot of time in the Adirondacks, I always wondered what happened to little Douglas Legg. Also, a Steven Thomas of Forestport had gone missing on Mt. Marcy while hiking with some friends and I always wondered if he met with foul play? What cold case has you fascinated and why? We need to help keep these murders and missing persons cases alive. We owe it to the memory of these people.

The Charlie Coupe in the Well murder has always fascinated me. He was involved with organized crime in the 60s so this may put him in a different category than what you may be suggesting for this thread, Mr. Felt, that of people who have randomly met with foul play. I have to say I've been really impressed with the quality of posts on this site when it comes to these cold case threads. Every now and then I'll hear about something that is being said here that makes me pop in, and I'm always disappointed with the name-calling, general rudeness, etc. but the intelligence and thoughtfulness of late has been inspiring to say the least.

Some people seem to think they know who killed Charlie Coupe and why, but the case is still unsolved.

The Charles Stahl murder was never solved either. Alot of cover up somewhere.

Thanks "Time Capsule"! I agree, I usually avoid Topix like the plague (i.e. the second post), but this has been fascinating. I think that we all hope that our memories will live on after we die, and that we will not be forgotten. I will have to look in to the Charlie Coupe case, as now you've piqued my interest!

Wasn't the Ambrosi murder at the Ramada Inn? Was that connected to the Carla Feleciano (sp?) murder? I think that was organized crime too??

Two things leap to mind: a) Dougie Legg (pointed out by Mr. Felt. I tend to think that the poor boy got lost, but I certainly think it would be investigated differently today. b) Joey D'Acquino -- the attorney who was killed in Louis Brindisi's office. I think that they tried to say it was a robbery but I have never believed that. Don't know Charlie Coupe either, but will Google it!

Many people believe that Daquino was killed because he was working with the FBI, while others think that the "hit" was meant for Brindisi himself? Most agree that the guy they arrested was just some "patsy" they pinned it on to silence any further investigation.

What ever happened to the Johnny Lee Bell case? I remember when he was found, shot. Was anyone ever arrested for this? Was this a case where they think Johnny was a witness to something so they killed him to silence him?

Dyke Road has been the burial ground of more than one victim. Did they ever solve the stabbing death of Philip Surace?

I still want to know where Sara Ann Wood got buried, and even if the wierdo in jail (Lewis Lent) really did her in. He did so much shit that he probably did but I'd still say he would have told them where she was or at least some one that he did

I remember the Johnnie Lee Bell case so vividly, and how scared we were in Cornhill growing up at that time. Today we have good reason to be scared in Cornhill everyday!:) I know they eventually made an arrest, but I don't remember the specifics.

I also heard that they found some of her clothing in his residence, but I haven't seen that confirmed in anything that I read online. Anyone know if that is true? I really don't doubt that he is the one who did it, but would like to know that.

Where do you find old newspaper articles? Do you have to read them on microfilm at the library? I would like to go back and read some of the articles on Joanne Pecheone's murder. For example, I don't recall if the sketch was in the paper at the time. Thanks for any info you can give me.
