She's presently on the NYSDOCS inmate look-up, just arrived at Bedford Hills CF yesterday. That girl is entering an entirely different world that I am sure she is not prepared for. Her kids are at an age where there are all sorts of life changes--and she won't be there. Yes, they can visit but the prison she is at in near NYC and the area is very expensive and is about 3 hours away from the valley. On top of that, visit day is not a pretty affair with Beford Hills being a minimum, medium and maximum security prison--she will be shoulder to shoulder with all manner of people who have committed crimes similar to hers to murder. When those gates close with such finality--even if she will only serve 3 years--knowing that for those 3 years you will be told when to eat, sleep, when and if you will see your family, etc the situation gets pretty bleak for good old Nancy. One thing, if I were her, I would not advertise her crime as there are certain individuals she will be living with who would love to get some of that money--even if she has no more of it and they just think she does--and lets just say the COs will not be always around her. If I were her I would be very careful. Then again, she can do what many white gals do in prison, they get "purchased" and become someone's "wifey." Sounds rough, but that's what you sign on for when you steal hundreds of thousands of dollars and then blame it all on your deceased mother who you did not provide care for (and who has insurance and benefits from her job as a court clerk). In the words of that great bard Baretta, "If you can't do the crime, don't do the time...don't DO IT!" lol

Actually Bed Hills is the sweetest female prison in the system. Our old mayor frm my hometown killed her husband and we wrote her and read her book. The county jails are scarier and dingier than the prisons. Too many people just watch tv and believe all they see.
