Maytag says it takes the recall of there dishwasher seriously. However they where not ready to receive calls from the public due to not enough staff and telephone lines. After three days of trying and being on hold 45 minutes I finally spoke to a person. This person wasn’t able to key in my serial number into the computer and put me on hold for 10 more minutes to get direction. I was to be transferred to a supervisor and given a number in case of disconnect. When it picked up I received a message that Maytag was closed and to call back during normal business hours. The number given said the same. I tried and tried again to call back but was hung up on because of call volume. Seriously is not a word I would use for this recall. So far I have spent over an hour trying to get my dishwasher fixed and they want me to do without until they come to work on it. Maytag you loose. You loose my business for ever and I am sure everyone else’s that has one of these machines.

Maytag certainly will lose with me. I had a repair man come to my home and replace the components that were defective in there recall. During the repair, the repairman broke the operating board. The dishwasher has been down for two weeks and I cannot get any information regarding the shipment of a new board. I have called Maytags customer service center and learned it isn't any better than the dishwasher I purchased. If I could be so bold to say "I hope they go out of Business" would be to kind. I have six kids. I get up every morning to at 4:00 a.m. to do dishes. I have asked to speak w/higher level managers and was refused by Maytags call center. I called their headquarters and asked the switch board to connect me to a product support manager and was transferred to the call center. Maytag is giving the customer the run a round. They cannot compete with their competition, nor can they service their customers. I have never been so disrespected in my life. If Maytag was the only appliance manufacturer left I wouldn't buy anything from them. Seriously, everyone needs to boycott Maytag. They have left their customers hanging out on a limb. Maytag, I agree with other opinions posted on this website....YOU LOSE.

Maytag is trying to force the customer to upgrade their dishwasher by offering a $75 rebate if the customer purchases a new unit. They are asking the customer to replace a defective unit. The unit "as is" leaks and will cause a fire. Instead of Maytag replacing their defective unit they want the customer to pay for their poor quality. NONSENSE MAYTAG. YOU FOLKS CAN GO TO HELL. YOUR CALL CENTER CAN GO TO HELL. LIKEWISE, YOUR RECALL AND FIX FOR THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT IS AGAINST CONSMER LAW. i'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER UNIT FROM MAYTAG.

I purchased a Amana refrigerator in sept,2005,
with an extended warranty, under Maytag dependabiity plus a.k.a "Service Net", well my frig broke in July 5,2007 , they sent out 1 tecnition and did not repair it right, they sent out a 2nd tecnition, they burned out the compresser, and ordered more parts, still did not repair it right. A 3rd repair was ordered and my frig does not work, 5 repairs later and it's still broken, Know I've have made it clear to them that I'm a parent with 9 children and have been emotional distress as well as financily , I can't prepare normal meals, we've been eating out and it has cost me a great deal of money. Know Maytag says that there repair services has to keep going out there as many times as needed until it gets fixed properly in the meanwhile my family has been inconvinienced, know the repairs have cost more then what I payed for the frig, if any body is laughing to the bank is there service tecnition/s company ( A & E appliance service in orange county CA.)who have told me theyll keep coming out until Maytag tells them otherwise, when all Maytag has to do is just replace my Frig, because by the time A & E finish it will cost at least $ 3,000.00 in service repairs. and Maytag will pay it with no squacks, and leave me and my children with no frig, no reimburstment for damaged food, cost of eating out, and the emotional stress we've been put under. I've asked to speack to every supervisor, manager, and C.E.O of this company and I;ve been ignored,my next call would be My attorney, consumers affairs, and the media. Here you have all these fat cat investors, from the Chairman down to there offfice clerks, sitting nice and relaxed while we are out here suffering,and yes pretty soon, starving!!!!!! I need help... I BOUGHT A MAGIC CHEF GAS STOVE (MANUFACTURED BY MAYTAG) AS MY RETIREMENT STOVE EXPECTING IT TO LAST ME UNTIL "I SEE THE LIGHT." UNFORTUNATELY, IT DIED, BEFORE ME, THANKGIVING EVE. WHAT A DIASTER HAULING MY FOOD SOMEWHERE ELSE TO BAKE. THE OVEN WAS INOPERABLE AND A TECHNICIAN CAME OUT LATER FOR A DIAGNOSIS.$100 LATER, I WAS TOLD IT'S BRAIN DIED. FOR ANOTHER $300, HE COULD RESUSCITATE. THE STOVE COST $550. HMMMM. DON'T THINK I'M PUTTING $400 INTO A NEW STOVE. I'M TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH THIS MAYTAG PRODUCT. SOMEONE ALSO MENTIONED THAT MAYTAG IS NOW MANUFACTURING IN MEXICO. IF THAT'S TRUE, GUESS WE'RE NOT GETTING GOOD OLD USA PRODUCTS ANY LONGER! THE NEW STOVE I PURCHASE SURE WON'T BE A MAYTAG!!!!!!!!!!

NEVER-EVER will i buy another maytag/whirlpool product. Maytag 26 cubic foot refrig side by side,TOTAL JUNK. NO HELP FROM CALL CENTER.

I contacted Maytag on the recall they had for our refrigerator. They gave me the name of the service man to come and do whatever they had to do to repair. He came and did his thing and after he left I noticed the refrigerator kept clicking and everytime it clicked it dimmed the lights. He assured us it was just the refrigerator going on to start etc. Next morning everything in the freezer was thawed! He came the next afternoon to check it..supposedly whatever the part was it was faulty. Great a faulty part to fix the recall! So he again did what he had to do. He contacted Maytag about our loss and they told us to write down everything we had lost in the freezer. Of course they did not give us the full value of what we lost, but we agreed on $280.00. Joanna told us it would take four weeks to receive the check!! Two days later we complained that we had to move the dials all the way over to get it somewhat cold and we use to have it right in the middle and worked perfectly. He came to check it and assured us it was ok. He left that morning and we left for 3 days for a mini vacation. When we returned the house had a terrible smell. Opened the refrigerator and everything in the freezer and refrigerator was spoiled. I had restocked our freezer after we lost everything the first time. We called the service guy and he said he could not come that evening but would be over between 2-4:00Pm the next day. He came and told us our refrigerator was now not operable and would need a new one! I called Joanna almost in tears as to what had happened. Took me five hours to clean it out, write everything down as to what we lost and now no food and no refrigerator. We had no problems with our refrigerator..it worked perfectly, but was following through on the recall. I asked to speak to a manager and she said you will either hear from someone today or by Thursday which would be a 3 day wait to hear from someone! We did talk to a manager (Carol) and now she is telling us they no longer make our model (high-end) model, too expensive for Maytag to make and is talking about something comparable. She then says we have to pay $125.00 to receive it. I said well if I was to buy a new refrigerator today I would purchase the french door style with freezer on the bottom and she told me if I wanted that I would have to pay $799.00!!! Maytag destroyed our refrigerator on doing the work for the recall and I don't think I should have to pay anything plus I cannot get the same one as I have right now. I asked Carol if there was someone higher than her that I could speak to and she said no she is the highest. I have been on the internet looking for a CEO or President to talk to about this matter. No agreement on the food as of yet, but we lost over a thousand dollars in food. We are living out of a cooler right now with limited food. With todays economy and having to wait over eight weeks in getting checks from Maytag to buy more food and having to pay out of pocket for a new refrigerator is not easy. I really do not even want another Maytag but if we go to a Whirlpool or another brand she told us it was cost us even more. She said it has to be a Maytag to get the lower price. I think they should give us what we want and we should not have to pay anything! We bought our refrigerator back in 2002 and we paid 1,599.00! They are stating we have to get a certain one and its not as much as we paid for ours and I would think it would have been cheaper back 7 years ago! I cannot seem to speak to anyone higher than Carol. Any suggestions on how to proceed with this? Thanks! Margo
