Great we are catering to a somali culture that vastly rejects ours and doesn't get out and contribute to the community they just create run down
apartment complexes. It was said that a african company was interested in buying the old Lincoln Park West apartments (Columbus largest complex) behind Westland Mall) So then we could proudly say we would have the largets somali ghetto in the USA . This is just WRONG

I think allowing them to garden unused land is a terriffic idea. AS LONG AS WE AREN'T SPENDING TAX DOLLARS TO HELP ONE GROUP OF PEOPLE AND LEAVING OUT OTHERS. I'm not Somali, I'm not Mexican, I'm not African American, I'm not Irish, I'm not French or Italian or Turkish or any of those.DAMMIT! I'm AMERICAN thru and thru and I'm tired of my tax dollars being wasted on welfare programs that don't work for people who don't / won't work. They know when they arrive in this country that if they are some kind of minority the government will bend over backwards to be "politically correct" and give them everything they need to make a much better life than from where they came. Are they greatfull for the handouts??? Hell No! They pi$$ and moan about everything that doesn't go the way they think it should. Let them work like everybody else and if they become criminals send them back to whatever little hellhole they came from.......... OH! Did I just say all that out loud?? I hate "political correctness."

Wow! Can we be so petty that we discourage people who want to work hard growing their own food? I feel sorry for "Birds" who I am assuming is Native American since s/he is "AMERICAN through and through," but the Somalis who seek refuge from the upheavals in their native land are not responsible for the way we early immigrants from Europe treated Amerindians.

Im just as easy going as the next guy, but when a man screams at you in his native language then spits in your face because you asked his WOMAN what kind of car she would like to see. I tend not wanting to cater to them. So now, I make a point to say hello to the woman first, just to piss them off. And what the hell kind of gardens do they have in Somalia anyway??? Rocks, cinder-blocks, and burning tires?

I am American Indian through and through and I have never asked for ANY assistance whatsoever. I don't know whether I agree with this or not and it really doesn't matter because the "powers that be" don't have to clear it with the citizens anyway. I do remember last year or so the City creating a special unit of employees to speak Somoli so as to cater to the people that come here and won't learn English. That's nice of us but where's the motivation to acclimate into American society? I guess immigrants don't have to anymore like they did in the early days of the influx of immigrants. Things sure are a-changin.

This is a wonderful idea. This of course should involve the children also. I would venture to say that many volunteers especially with heavy equipment would be more than glad to help start the initial preparation. In addition to the fresh home grown food, composting for return to the soil can be taught.

move to that country and learn that countries standards and language, or you shall be an out sier for life and your childrens lives. And to take their money and welfare and not be able to contribute crap to them except spend some of their wlefare money and money you never had to pay taxes on for 7 years.. not a great bargain in my eyes..

Lets just change the USA to United Welfare Agency?

Columbus has to cater to recent arrivals that cannot afford to live anywhere else. Most people who wants a good life for their family is moving out of Columbus in very large numbers.

Ah, "progressive" liberal policies destroy another American city.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Pisces

You have a one track mind today, dear Pisces, and it's running along very ambitious lines, absolutely determined to achieve something you've been attempting for ages. Can you be so committed that you're prepared to let everything else go by the wayside for the time being? That's great, but don't become obsessive about it.
