Grammar and punctuation are your friends.

When pointing out punctuation errors of others, it is of utmost importance not to make punctuation or other grammatical errors ourselves.
I think the correct form of your statement should read " Reading your post (singular) is of utmost importance.....OR, it should otherwise be written as "Reading your posts ARE like deciphering encrypted messages."
This type of thing dates back to a phrase i have heard often...."look at the pot calling the kettle black." Sometimes, i think we get in a rush, and TYPOS happen....like other things. it really is not THAT big of a deal, in the great scheme of life, is it?

You are incorrect.

The writer "nnn" had more than one post; hence, "posts" was correct. Whether "post" or "posts" was used, the correct verb for that sentence would have been "is" as the subject of the sentence was "reading" and not "post" or "posts." Subject/verb agreement would exist only with Reading/is, not Reading/are.

My issue is not with nnn’s typographical errors, but with the apparent total disregard for spelling and punctuation. If one cares enough to comment, shouldn’t one’s comments be understandable? Examples of nnn’s posts include:

Hmmm...i have been wrong many times before, and will gladly admit to being so, therefore, perhaps i am also a black pot.
Still, me thinks dat the correct sentence (if your subject/verb agreement statement is to be valid, as well as congruent), should end with "...like reading encrypted MESSAGES."

"Learn to write in a manner that others can understand your message." (Pragmatist)

Should that sentence not read "...SO that others can understand your message."(A question, but i dont know where to put the question mark; Sorry.(See, told ya i was a black pot, too.)

"Isn't that the whole point, after all?" (Pragmatist)

I must disagree with you on this point. It is MY OPINION that the whole point is to gossip.
Now, i would like to add one more cent, if i may.
It is a saying i have heard many times before, and now, to it, take heed...."Crazy" is doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results. I don't know who wrote it, or even if i wrote it in correct form, but whoever they are or were, they are/were a genius.
Thank you for your grammatical corrections. It is my hope for you that you have a wonderful, non-judgmental day, and realize that NONE of us are PERFECT. THAT IS MY WHOLE POINT. Love ya, Prag. I don't hold grudges against oddballs, or black pots, or ANYONE else, for that matter. I find it pointless to do so. Please be nice to nnn. Nobody else seems to mind an occasional typo, except you. Another quote for you..."Don't sweat the small stuff." :O)

By the way, Prag, "someone" sent me a text message that read, "I TOU every S,M,H,D,W,M"
I knew EXACTLY what he meant, although the messsage failed to follow correct punctuation guidelines. I guess my point HERE is to say that the REALLY smart people in the world can "read" typos, screwy text messages, and EVEN BETWEEN THE LINES, but ONLY if they want to.
Once again, my adversarial friend (is that an oxymoron?) best wishes to you. We are all made differently, which does not support that if we are different, we are crazy. In fact, i enjoy the differences among people, and yes, even you, Prag. But i do BELIEVE it is not other imperfect people who should judge us, but rather only God, who makes us as He desires us to be-all individuals; IMperfect, and with no carbon copies available.
PEACE, Pragmatist. Happy New Year.

True. The sentence should most correctly end “…as reading encrypted messages.”

I don’t think so.

The quote is often incorrectly attributed to Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, or cited as an ancient Chinese Proverb. In fact, it is from a 1980s mystery novel (called "Sudden Death") by Rita Mae Brown.

Thank you for your kind sentiments, One Cent. It’s not the typos which bother me: it’s the blatant disregard for the rules of the English language.

When texting, I, too, use abbreviations, acronyms, initialisms and alphabetisms. When writing email messages, letters, business correspondence, blogs, or comments, I try to refrain from doing so.

Brevity in text messages and common typos I can tolerate. If you are using a QWERTY keyboard, brevity makes no sense. When I see a poorly written message, I generally tend to ignore it and the opinion of the writer. If you want to influence my opionion on anything, at least show me you are smart enough to form a coherent presentation of your ideas.

You know what they say about this being the season of goodwill to all men? Well, you get the chance to put it into action today by being understanding, tolerant and compassionate towards the people you meet. This doesn't mean you should condone anything awful that they do, but simply that you need to look beyond that to the larger picture.
