Obama losing face with the Dems!

President Obama is virtually guaranteed to win the party's nomination again, but some Democratic voters across the country haven't been sold on picking Obama – even when they don’t have a second choice.

Roughly 13 percent of Democratic primary voters so far have chosen not to pick Obama, with seven more primaries remaining leading up to the party’s national convention in September in North Carolina.

But several recent primaries in conservative states ended with surprising results – particularly Kentucky. Roughly 42 percent of Kentuckians on Tuesday picked “uncommitted” instead of voting for Obama to seek a second term.

That same day, outsider Democratic candidate John Wolfe Jr. won 42 percent of the vote in the Arkansas primary.

“I think it was a good showing,” he told FoxNews.com the next day, adding that the Arkansas results and getting roughly 12 percent of the vote in the Louisiana primary have bolstered his hopes for the Texas primary on Tuesday.

Perhaps more embarrassing for Obama was federal inmate Keith Judd winning 41 percent of the vote in the West Virginia Democratic primary May 8.

Even so, an overwhelming majority of voters in the Democratic primaries so far have cast ballots for Obama: 4.5 million of the roughly 5.2 million primary voters, or 86 percent.

The number voting “no preference” was roughly 4 percent,“uncommitted” was 3.84 percent, for Wolfe was 1.68 percent and for Judd was 1.39 percent.

“We look at this as a sign that there are conservative-minded Democrats who gave the president a chance in 2008 but are now disappointed with the results," Republican National Committee press secretary Kirsten Kukowski said Thursday evening.“They look at the jobs he promised to create but didn’t, the debt he promised to cut but didn’t and the promise he made to change Washington but didn’t.”

Kukowski said the recent voting results indicate a problem for the Obama campaign during the national election, particularly in battleground and coal country states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, and in North Carolina where voters still appear to be making up their mind.

The Democratic National Committees declined to comment for the story.

Wolfe thinks the larger question is largely about why Washington Democrats have cleared a path to victory for the president.

“They are so aligned with him that they are not looking at things that are important,” he said.

Robme shuts down steel mills and makes millions......

Mitt Romney's Bain Capital invested in "failing, cash-strapped" companies as some sort of noble effort to save them. That's not how arbitrageurs like Romney work.

Bain looked for "cash cows," companies that were profitable and had reasonably good cash flows. The key was they were paying pretty much standard tax rates. By borrowing large sums of money in the company's name (used to pay off Bain's investment), Bain was able to use tax deductions to reduce the company's rate to near zero, without killing the cash flow. Bain and its investors pocketed the 30 percent or so the company would have been paying.

If the massive debt caused the company to go under, as it did in about half the cases, it cost Bain nothing because it had gotten its investment out early. If the company survived, Bain sold it, making additional profits, and paying only a 15 percent capital gains tax on those profits.

Romney's company used taxpayer money to purchase solid, albeit slow-growing, companies, plunged them deeply into debt and then profited on the misery this debt caused for the workers who lost their jobs and benefits when the businesses went broke.

Maybe that's just capitalism. But in my view, it is a greedy, rapacious form of capitalism that places profit above humanity.

“This applies to any business in America today. Yes occasionally employees are hurt in the process but in most instances the jobs are saved.”
You paint a picture that is very distorted, as Mitt Romney Knew when he invested in those Corporations there was no way he and his Bain Capital, could lose any money, otherwise they wouldn’t have invested their Money in those Corporations, if they didn’t KNOW they were going to Suck the Life Blood from those Corporations and then RAID the Highly Funded Pension Funds of those Corporations, they knew they weren’t gambling, as it was a sure thing, they were going to ENRICH themselves on the backs of the People who created the Wealth for those Corporations, and then allow the TAX PAYERS of the United States pay the Pension Claims from the U. S. Treasury, how could they LOSE?

Bain Capital Looting the Pension Funds (where Hundreds of Millions of Employees Pension money had been saved for Decades) of some of the Companies they bought, so they could not only reap huge rewards from those Pension Plans, they raided, but left the Tax Payers to Pay the Pensions of those workers whose pensions had been looted by those Vulture Capitalist as Texas Governor Rick Perry called Mitt Romney and his Bain Company.

One of the Companies Bain Capital raided paid Mitt Romney and his Bain Capitalist more than $200 MILLION in profit, even as they put 350 people out of Work. That would be more than a Lifetime of income to those 350 people that had created that More than $200 Million for Mitt Romney and his Raiders, took from them in a matter of months

MBC/Marist polls show Obama leads in 3 key swing states
Three new polls from NBC News/Marist show Obama with leads in Ohio, Virginia, and Florida. The polls show Obama leading by 6 points in Ohio and 4 points in both Virginia and Florida.

This is not good news for Romney who needs to win at least two out of three of these states to get to 270 electoral votes. All three of these states were won by former President George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004, but switched to the Democrat Barack Obama in 2008.

Bush needed all three of these states in 2000 and two out of three in 2004 to pull out close electoral victories. He won with 286 electoral votes in 2004 and 271 electoral votes in 2004. McCain lost all three in 2008, and only received 173 electoral votes.

The polls showed that Obama benefited in all three states from a belief that the economy is improving, and that the worst is behind us. A healthy majority also believe that Obama inherited the tough economic circumstances when he took office in January, 2009.

Romney continues to have problems with the female vote in all three states. Although Romney holds a slim lead among men, he trails Obama by double digits among women.

The fact that Bain's companies continued to fail after Romney left has nothing to do with the issue. Bain didn't suddenly start doing leveraged buyouts after Romney left. They made the switch from venture capital to leveraged buyouts in the late 80's under Romney's leadership. Venture capitalists lend money to growing companies with the idea of making money as that company grows...they are an important part of out capitalist system Arbitrageurs use the leveraged buyout and tax arbitrage strategy outlined in the letter. They buy solid companies, or somewhat troubled companies with substantial concrete assets, and then through loans and tax gimmickry drain them dry. They make money on dividends and they make money as they break the companies up and sell their assets. No matter whether the company fails or succeeds, they make money.

Normally, when a business goes belly-up, the owners lose their shirts. But, the way Bain gamed the system they were in a win-win situation. The only people who got totally screwed in the process were the employees of the companies. If the business failed, they lost everything and if the business survived, it was only after a series of layoffs and salary and benefit cuts.

There's no question that Romney was a successful businessman...successful in a business model that cares only for profit with no consideration of who suffers as those profits are gained.
Bottom line
