Godsmack steals the show at Crue Fest 2

Full story: San Bernardino County Sun

Hard rock's Motley Crue may have been the flashy headliner at this year's Crue Fest 2 but Godsmack's heavy metal flawlessness overshadowed them Friday night.

Taking a 1 year old child to a heavy metal concert sounds like it borders on child abuse!

Yeah right, Godsmack was good, but not even close to Motley Crue.

I disagree that Godsmack stole the show. I was there, and although Godsmack performed very well, the crue made the crowd go nuts, they were off the hook! Neil sounded off for a bit, but he came back strong...

Can't wait for the show in Denver tomorrow night, I hear there in no Cruefest next year. Hopefully they spend the time making a new record, and maybe the movie will finally get done. I hope Vince sounds as good as he did last year, that was the best he has sounded since the Swine Tour.

Hey everybody! Saw Cruefest 2 in Denver on Tuesday night. first off, I saw James Michael and Dj Ashba of Six: A.M. wandering around and got to talk to them for a minute, which was really cool. Got to our seats and they sucked! I was really close to the stage, but, I was in the very last seat of the row on Nikki's side. I could not see tommy or his drums at all! Nothing! The band sounded great, ripping through Feelgood. Vince's voice was noticeably weak (much weaker than last year) but i could not really knock him for it, since they played the night before and the next night. He may have been holding back. Not a word from Nikki. I've seen the Crue countless times and have never seen Nikki not say a word the entire show, which leads me to believe something is wrong, probably with the band, which would be no surprise considering they don't even like eachother anymore, have no respect for one another and it has shown for a very long time. But, I'll cut Nikki some slack as well, since he has so much on his plate these days, one request though, never skip Live Wire again. EVER! That is one of the best Motley songs live. The crowd was nuts. The best I've seen yet! Vince really responded to them. I was shocked to see as many people as I did singing along to Saints. Thank God for this crazy ass band. If they come back next month or next year, I'll be there. Hopefully I won't be singing along to a Theatre Of Pain tribute- John

I agree 100% In Pittsburgh this past Sunday, Godsmack stole the show...for sure! I realize that Motley is a 30 yr old band, but come on...the 2 hottie background singers sang more lyrics than Vince. The Crue still rocks with the coolest mother f***er in this world, Nikki Sixx, and the amazing Mick Marrs playing through the pain. Although, crazy MF Tommy Lee had a burnt hand to sideline him, Morgan Rose of Sevendust filled in nicely. Vince was a huge disappointment, musch worse than last year.

Caught the show in Pittsburgh. I could'nt agree more! Godsmack brought the house down! The deuling drums was sick. I grew up on the Crue and this was the 4th time seeing them and the worst time seeing them! Vince sucked big time. He only sang like every forth word of every song. The band was sound, even with a fill in drummer.(Tommy burnt his hand). Vince hang it up dude you sounded like an idiot!

Godsmack certainly is the draw for Cruefest 2. Crue did the right thing and got a ground shaker to open for them. The last 2 times I saw Crue Vince sucked but the band can still play.

I will be at the shows on Sept 3rd and 5th. Godsmack is the ONLY reason to go.

i went to Priest on the 11th of august in denver and a couple girls next to me said that motley ended their set early because vince just couldn't do it. kinda like whitesnake did to us. didn't bother me though, priest played about five more songs than scheduled and that was just fine with me and the rest of the crowd! i think that the crue boys need to take a break. they have been on tour nonstop for almost five years now. can't say i am surprised that vince can't keep it together, a person's voice can only take so much!

That's not true. They played every song on the unfortunate set-list. I've never heard of Whitesnake so I can't comment on what they did.

you have never heard of whitesnake? or you just didn't hear of the show, or should i say non- show? david coverdale had laryingytis and as a result only played four songs and cut out. not sure if the crue thing is true or not... those two chicks said it was cut early.. what a shame that nikki won't take a break though to let vince's voice get back into shape. it would be a good move for them before thay embarass themselves beyond repair.

the Crue is taking a break, Crufest2 ends Sept.5. Though Motley Crue not touring probably won't do Vince's voice any good because he will be playing concerts with his solo band before long. I hope he gives his voice a break before he records the new Motley record in the beginning of 2010

Saw The Crue last night and Godsmack blew them away.Love Motley Crue but Nikki barely plays his bass and looked bored. Vince cannot sing at all and misses half the words. The drum sound was terrible. I've seen Motley Crue many times starting in 83 and they embarrassed themselves last night and alot of people that were at the show agree with me..
Godsmack on the other hand sounded perfect and Sully always sounds good and has great energy.
Motley needs someone to teach them how put on a good show again. Maybe they should watch Godsmack and take some notes..

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
