Police find person of interest in Wright killing

Keep this investigation hot and alive, The young man that was killed was my second cousin. I would very much like the killer to be found.

I was wondering if theres any updates to this story? I live in TN. And can't find much out about this. If anyone has any info. Please post here. As I said above, I'm family. His mom and I are cousins. I'm very curious about this.

It's June 27th and I still know nothing. Where is DJ (David Joshua Doutrich)? He calls himself a fried of my son, BJ (Blase Wright Jr.). My son let him stay in his apartment when DJ had nowhere else to go....now where is DJ?...still hiding in Bandera? Why isn't he helping? I know he knows something!

DJ isn't the only person that knows something about the murder. The others need to come forward, as well. If they have a problem with going to the detectives they can email me on the 'my space' under Deb Hastings.

BJ ( Blase Wright Jr.) gave what he considered a friend a roof over his head and food in his belly. Now when that person can return the favor, where is he? This person knows more than he is admitting but instead is lacking the courage. So that tells me, he was a user and not a friend and how sad this kind of person is. He needs to take responiably for himself, standup like a man, and tell what he really knows. He might just gain some respect for hisself. I'm BJ'S grandmother and very proud him in life and death. Our love for him will always be there.

some people jump to what ever they want to to make there pain make sence but to point fingers and false advocations of ones guilt is just wrong as wrong as a great guy like blase bein slain . . . .

you are wrong, "BJ's family's pain cannot make sense, false acusations,I don't think so". this person has been caught in a lie already. so how many more has this person told. BJ's words of what went on mean alot more. there is more to the story than meets the eye.

Angel, I am sure you mean well but I assure you there have been no false accusations made here. We are BJ's family and we know what HE told us BEFORE he was shot and left to die. Believe me when I say that we have the information we need to state facts. There is no need to fabricate because the inconsistencies speak for themselves. We only want justice for BJ and our family. This is a pain like no other and it has effected our family in an unbelievable way. We live with this crime running through our heads not daily but hourly. This kind of thing should not happen to ANY family.

Stacie and my mother are right, Angel. There are no false accusations. BJ told me the night before that he wanted to tell DJ that he had one week to find another place. BJ couldn't afford to support himself and another person. BJ was driving him everywhere, feeding him and entertaining him. DJ has been caught in many lies by me and the detectives. We don't have to make up stories, the fact are what they are... As far as pain....nothing can make sense of it. I am BJ's mother. He was my one and only. He is everything to me. I have the deepest, darkest and very empty hole in my soul with his absence. A hole that will never make sense, never be filled and will always ache. Unless you have endured this, and I hope you haven't, you don't know what I go through every hour of everyday. And it is beyond my mind's capabilities to understand that if some of these kids were such a good friend to BJ, WHY AREN'T THEY SAYING ANYTHING?!?! THESE ARE THE VERY PEOPLE THAT CAN PUT THIS CASE TO REST!

Angel, If you get back on... I just want to let you know that Aunt Stacie and Deb are right. There are no false accusations. And for you, an outsider not knowing much and at that, nothing at all. We state the truth. We, as Blase's family, are not going to put this pain and this strain on anyone that doesn't deserve it. Only GOD and Blase know who and what exactly happened. Blase Allen Wright Jr.(BJ) was shot and killed on a friday afternoon, Feb. 2,2007 in his apartment in Universal City. Nine (9) months has gone by and
as of today, his killer has not been brought justice. We, BJ's family, try to continue to believe in the justice system that this person that killed BJ will be caught. It is very difficult at this point to have faith in the justice system. I still think that some of the young people that knew BJ, know or have heard things but don't realize what they know or just to scared to say anything. I do encourage if anyone knows anything to tell the detectives at the Universal City police department. Whoever you might be, may think what you know is not important but I encourage you to let the detectives decide what is or is not important to the case.

Blase Wright (BJ) birthday was Nov.27 and he turned 22years old. BJ received birthday greetings and some went out to have a steak dinner for BJ and some stayed home and had steak dinner & gave a toast in BJ's honor. Why a steak dinner, BJ loved steak dinners and would have a steak dinner for his birthday. It has been 10 months since BJ was shot and killed in his apartment by a person or persons that had no regard for life. I cannot understand why no one has come forward with information on BJ's murder. Someone knows something and chosen to protect the killer. This killer has most likey killed before and will kill again. It just gets easier each time someone kills. Why would anyone protect someone like this? Out of fear? Out of loyalty? Next time this person kills it could be you or a loved one. Don't think it'll never happen to me, it can. Never Say Never! As BJ's grandmother I always thought I's die befor my childern and grandchildern. Look at what happen and my one and only grandson was killed. I hope I live long enough to see this person caught, brought to justice, and convicted for taking BJ away from us. This is one ugly person with no regerts in what they did.....

It has been a year now since we laid BJ to rest. Who would he be today, who might he have become. For all of us that knew and loved him, and for all those who never had the good fortune of meeting BJ, please help bring closure to his family.

it'a been a 1year and 5 months since BJ Wright was murdered. BJ had several roles in his life. a son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many people and a hard worker. how could someone so cold and callus come to his apartment and murder him? BJ was murdered on Feb.2,2007 on a friday afternoon. the next monday BJ was to start a new job, which he was so excited about. that of course never happened. the person that murdered him took it away. that person took alot away from BJ and everyone that loved and cared for BJ. THIS PERSON THAT MURDERED BJ IS STILL OUT ON THE STREETS AND LIVING HIS LIFE! it is a shame that one person out there knows something and refuses to tell what they know because of their own selfishness. the family's of BJ's keep in touch with the Universal City detectives. the police are still working BJ'S case. if you are the person that knows something, heard something, no matter how slight let the ucpd know about it. the police can decide how to handle the information. or let a family member of BJ's know. CRIME STOPPERS STILL HAS A $5000.00 REWARD. no one will give up till this so called person is caught and brought to justice. just remember it takes a coward to kill another in coldblood like how BJ was murdered. it is a brave person to take a stand against killer.
