well lets get one thing straight. if you are going to be given the responsibilty to be a moderator then do your job. don't just sit there and delete post that you don't like or just b/c you got bored and decided to make someone mad. Delete the one's that are malicious, slanderous, and vulgar and do that to everyone that is like that. not just the one's that you don't want to b/c a certain individual made you mad or you don't like them.

so if you feel that you, the moderator, can not do your job then pass it off to someone that has the maturity to and not post smarta** comments when help is asked for.

No one is a moderator. I for one delete anything I think can cause trouble for other people like single women or people with children. Anyone can delete. People who have threads started against them should just ask for a review and deletion. Topix decides what gets deleted. I have never paid for one either. The forum ghost has explained how to do that too! Take care of yourselves everyone and all of your friends and family. Don't reley on anyone else!!

i guess what the poster meant was if he was going to bash deleters he shouldn't ask for their help in having comments against him deleted. it is called being a hypocrit. you can't have your cake and eat it too. he wants to bash, slander & write vulgar things but he doesn't want things written about him. we all read how mad he got and how he was begging someone to stop it. the shoe was on the other foot and he didn't like it.what i don't understand is why anyone is depending on someone else to delete a post. the instructions have been posted on here enough times. anyone can flag a post. it is quietly done..no one realizes what is going on till a post disappears. no one can stop the flagging.

no i was calling steve green a hypocrite.in my opinion, i was actually calling out the "squad" on there hyprocitical acts. and also don't sit and there and say you wouldn't have something to say if you saw something posted about you. so don't hold fault against him for defending himself. but what the main point of my post was to say that yes, he knows how to delete the posts, i just found it funny that the polite police wouldn't b/c some of the things that were said were vulgar and that's what they claim to be about. non-vulargity and removing anything that would not be good for the sight of lets say a 3 year old. but that's neither here nor there

You can also go below the box that you reply in (as I am writing this). In the writing below the box you will see "terms of Service" in blue which gives you the rules. Then you will see "send us your feedback" so just click on it. It will ask you to fill out the form free of charge. Whatever thread you feel should be deleted, copy the address line and paste it in the permalink box on the form they give you. Then tell why in the comment box. Didn't take two days to get two threads deleted today - took a couple hours.

Thank you to all the people who are working to clean-up the Union City forum. "Dont judge a book by its cover" is a true statement towards outsiders who might be reading all the posts on this forum. I do not want Union City or Obion County judged by what is typed by a few "bad apples". Thank you for helping me feel proud to live in Union City.
How to request that a thread be deleted or a poster be blocked.
At the top of every thread is:
Judge it, Report Abuse, Reply.
1.) Click on Report Abuse. A box will pop-up.
2.) Click on Priority Review request..You do not have to pay $19.99
3.) A Topix Feedback Box will pop-up
4.) Click on the arrow at the end of the
"Type of Feedback" box
A drop down menu will appear. Choose either "Report User" or "Inappropriate Forum Post"
5.) The "Permalink" box should already have the thread's location
6.) Type in you email address
7.) Type in any comments you might have.
8.) Type in the provided number in the box
9.) Click on Submit Feedback
The thread will be reviewed an possibly deleted in 2 days unless it is late Friday or the weekend

I am not a fan of either Sammy nor Steve; however, Sammy has never filled his comments with profanity.
Sammy also has never attacked everyone on this forum with threatening/confrontational comments.

Steve is constantly making sexist and rude comments about women/wives. That is surprising since he has supposedly been happily married to his wife for 25 years and has a daughter. Sammy is not attacking women by calling them "fat and lazy housewives." Sammy makes politically wrong statements/opinions about the community or public officials.

Steve has been on this forum under 3 different allias talking about pornography and x-rated internet sites that he visits. He tries to engage other posters into talking about his perversions. When he is "called out" for his filth, he claims he is being sarcastic. I have never read Sammy write any perverted statements on this forum.

Steve openly discusses his "private" or lack of "private" life with his wife. He also has repeatedly talked about his exaggerated "appendage" size. Steve also has stated numerous times that the only reason he married his wife was because of their "private" life when they were younger. I have never read Sammy make any comments concerning his and his wife's marriage and their relationship. It appears that whatever faults Sammy might have, not respecting his wife is not one of them.

Sammy also has never made comments on this forum which publicly embarassed his coworkers and employers. Steve this past weekend made a mockery of the EW James family friendly reputation.

Once again, I am neither a fan of Sammy nor Steve.
However, Sammy understands there is a fine line between being controversial and being repulsive.

Steve is just accomplishing being repulsive and pathetic.

Steve's type of comments are not welcome in an area such as Obion County. He needs to take his offensive and repulsive comments to a large city forum where morals are forgotten and perversions are accepted.

why do you even read either one of their comments on here? If you are so repulsed by them both?

Well, I have looked allover the Union City Topix and I fail to see anything remotely of what you are accusing this person of saying.

A lot of stuff has been deleted, thanks to volunteers. It was there.

yeah uh, Village idiot, since you seem to have this name i will go ahead and gather you are an idiot. i have never seen anything that you accuse steve of doing. last time i checked steve uses his real name. So if he did post something vulgar i think we would find it. but anyways even if he has then he isn't doing it know so just back off. none of you can say you haven't ever said anything that was offensive to someone.

If you were a reqular reader, you would know that Steve posted plenty of offensive comments this weekend that Topix had to delete really quick.
You can also call EW James Corporate, they have several copies of his comments that were copied, pasted and emailed to them.
People need to realize that once you post a comment or picture on the internet and it enter cyberspace, you can't completely erase it. Things can be attached to an email and kept or forwarded.
