UCO streets

I live just outside of the city limits and come in town often. I hit a hole in the roadway that nearly threw my car out of alignment. It's not that this is the only one. There are several holes in the roadways, signs that are bent and turned, holes developing on the sides of the roadway, the alleyways are never maintained as they should be, and the barricades that have been up on division st and north st line road for weeks. Do our street department employees do anything? It seems as if Mr. Austerman is doing the same crappy job taking care of our city that Dave Yount that it screwed up in the first place. Whose running this show? The Mayor? Mr. Austerman? Sandy Moore? Get your acts together and fix our town. Stop wasting our cities money.

They have a two man department and are expected to sweep all the streets, mow vacant properties, spray weeds, fix potholes, do their own maintenance, maintain alleys, pick up brush and leaves, run the backhoe, plow and salt along with I'm sure countless other things that I don't see them doing and that's not enough for you?! I would love to see you try and fill in for one of these hardworking gentlemen for a week, bet you would have a different attitude then. How many people work for the water department and they don't even pump their own water anymore but nobody says anything about them do they?

If you live outside the UCO city limits, do you still pay UCO income tax? If you're outside the UCO Corporation limits, how much of your property taxes goes to the village?

I've lived in UCO for over twenty years and I've seen many workers come and go. Mt. Yount is the hardest working city employee I've ever seen. They've always been very polite to me and did whatever they could to solve any issues I've ever had. They've gone out of their way many, many times to help our citizens. You don't see this kind of service in most towns.

Yount a good guy? He's a piece of crap that should have been fired a long time ago when that Rae guy "resigned his position". It's time to get rid of the ass suckers of UCO and start over. You can't move ahead one step at a time when you have employees that don't do anything but ride around in a truck all day and waste the taxpayers money. As far as the water department, I don't hear much about them. They must actually do their jobs rather than the street employees. Street Department HAH. They should be called the "lets waste your money department".

I'd love to see you keep up with Dave for a day lmao...I bet he'd wear your ignorant ass out. Not like it matters anyway though, by the end of Nelson's first term I'll be suprised if all the departments aren't done away with and all the work is hired out to UCI anyways.

HOW ABOUT you slow down and pay attention to where you are going.if you can't see a hole in the road,how can you see anyone working??

My concern for the streets is that they are in dire need of repair. Yet, tax money is being spent on corner flower pots and not filling pot holes. The sidewalks are looking great. Thre streets are crap.

speaking of the water the water is terrible a water softner doesnt even help the water in this town, in one day leave a glass of water set for 12 hour and look at the scale build up. complaining doesnt help you cant even get an answer.

If they work so hard then why do you see two riding in the street truck everuy where you go? I think Buck Austerman is scared to do anything by himself.. or does he need to act like he is working by driving all over town checking and making sure his wife is home by herself!!!and not working the streets like her husband should be

The flower pots were all done by the Beautification Committee, no tax dollars!
There are at least 10 good organizations that could use more volunteers.
You're either part of the solution or part of the problem.

There are people who would like to be involved with the community activities but certain people discourage others from joining in. This has been a problem for years. Maybe more people would be willing to "volunteer" if they were not made to feel like they were not "good" enough to be a part of their groups.

Dave Y is a very good person and a hard worker, I have known him for 11 years and I think he is wonderful!
