Church of Christ is a Cult

The Church of Christ believe that they are the only true Chruch. The rest of us are going to hell believe it or not!

gone there all my life, never once been taught that...knew a Baptist who felt the same way about all non-baptists. it's funny but lots of people think since we don't have a piano that we are a cult. we just have a different interpretation of the bible, like many different religions. doesn't mean we're right or wrong, or you're right or wrong. bottom line...we go to church to worship the Lord, who taught us not to judge or make false accusations

So is the lord you talk about god or jesus? Just wondering.

Just because a denomination believes that they are "the only true Church," doesn't make them a cult. There are many denominations within the Christian faith. The different denominations spring up from the same basic belief: that God so loved the world that he sent his only Son to take on our sin and sacrifice Himself so that we could be saved. But the different denominations are just a reflection of individual preferences on things like style of worship and ideas about baptism and communion.

Just a couple questions to eliminate them from the cult category.

Do they preach the gospel according to the Word?

Do they believe in the Trinity ... hmmm?

Although I have a strong passion for hating the Church of Christ... it's actually the 'International Church of Christ' thats the cult.

the International Church of Christ and the United Church of Christ are both different from The Church of Christ. Go to a plain ole Church of Christ and you'll find friendly people who follow the New Testament and have a humble scaled-down service...minus instrumental music.

And its boring as hell. Every C.O.C ive ever been to was all the same with people that gossip about eachother and cause problems.

ok, so I guess everyone on this site must go to the C of C, since all we do is gossip. There is nothing wrong with a simple church service. They are not boring, they just aren't filled with a bunch of fluff to make you "feel" like you are a religious person. That feeling comes from within, not externally. I do admit that young people may get bored, but what teenger isn't bored with life 95% of the tie anyway?

The Church of Christ believes that their doctrine of no music instruments is biblical. Most people who grew up in the Church of Christ are taught to only marry and associate with fellow members. If you follow the history of this Cult you’ll realize that all the other Church’s mentioned were splinters of the original Church of Christ.

It is only natural for people who share common interests to associate together. It is only natural that people who share common interests to marry one-another. So to say that C of C's only assoiate with each other is crap. Teenagers associate with mostly teenagers, they date kids their own age, etc. People who enjoy sports attend sporting events...together, just as people who enjoy learning the "word" go to church together. I suspect, "John," that you feel like you were wronged by a member of the C of C, therefore you want everyone to believe this is a cult. In fact, it is a non-denominational community open to anyone who needs prayers and assistance in anyway. These are good people, the people who lead the community and it's businesses, your next door neighbor, and the people who would feed you if you were hungry. So grow up and get over it!
