In the end I think it will generate more business for the local shops. We will pull in people who never really came here and they will discover other shopping opportunities. This will take time and Ulysses will have to weather the storm, but when the dust settles I think it will end up being a good thing for our community.

Maybe we could get our local grocery stores from raising their prices out of sight. Sick of being screwed by Russ's and Daves!!!!!!!!!! Weird that you can go to G.C., pay for the gas, buy groceries and eat out and still save money. Get real to our local grocery stores. Yea. I still will spend my money in Ulysses because I always have, but groceries are a laugh. They won't hurt our busines's only bring more people to town. Only concern will they hire white people too. Not trying to be derogatory, but honest.

You let Walmart in and two years from now, you will be sorry. They will run out of town your grocery stores, hardware stores, clothing stores, shoe stores and the jewelry stores. Where will it stop. After these businesses leave, the prices will go up and the quality will go down. Very few people there work full time. Is this really the American dream?

we have no shoe stores or jewelry stores. Our hardware and clothing stores either sell things that walmart doesn't or sell better quality things. I don't think they will be in any danger. Sorry, i just don't buy the whole "walmart destroys towns" argument.

If Wal-Marts would go back to made in USA items instead of China..I'd be more thrilled. I hope it doesn't happen, just like the ethanol plant. It won't bring people here..although, I do agree with getting lower grocery prices.

i would love for wal-mart to come to ulysses. especially if it could be a 24 hour store.. it could really come in handy for when you need items that were forgotten durring the day or for when my kid needs some of the MANY things that ALCO dont sell. i think it'd be great!!

Yeah if wal mart was 24 hours i know abuch of peps would be going there for late night snack or that extra party pizza. our convenience store s suck and close at what ten some times 11 C plus and the old taylors cant even put fried burrito s for the night timer. and have you seen the streets. main is dead at nine . not like the good ol days block to block cars at 10 30 . if it opens peps will work harder to get the things they want cause they know that once they have the money they can go get it and not wait and plan a trip to garden.
