It seems the great ball coach isn't so great. He took over a loaded team years ago, and now that he has allowed his team to become so undisciplined it is all catching up with the great coach Kenny. His players have been allowed to act anyway they want, this was ok when he had superior athletes, but now that his athletes are not superior to the competition it is catching up with him. Even when he did have those good teams they didn't win it all because of lack of discipline. Three of his coaches are morons and Kenny's true colors are beginning to show--he is not a great coach, he is simply a average coach who had some good athletes.

maybe the players should be held accountable for their performance. a coach is only as good as his players.

Food for thought. How many of these players go home to a dad who for whatever reason, badmouths the coach and his staff?(kind of like football fan) Then perhaps they come to practice and games with poor attitudes. What if good ole dad would shut the hell up for awhile, and maybe the players would buy into what the coach is teaching them.

Excellent point. Parents sometimes have no idea how the poison the minds of their own kids. I wonder if they plan on being there when little Johnny gets fired from his job because he doesn't like the boss, etc.

Garden City AAAAAA 3-0, Hays AAAAA 3-0, Scott City AAA 3-0. We're not playing Lakin, Holcomb and Hugoton. It's a little early to be blowing up bridges and pointing fingers.

...Lets see this week with TMP..I've got a feeling this is our turning of our season. Secondly you all bad mouth coach Kenny. Yes he had great players throughout his years but he has been a great coach. Our team just needs to pull together and work as a whole.

Tiger Athelete, take it and run with it. No matter what any chicken**it on this site says, it is your team, and you can still salvage a season. Coach Kenny does a good job working with the kids and his system. I will argue any point with anyone that wants to disagree....

There is only one person bad mouthing Coach Kenny. I have never seen a lack of team discipline. I have, on the other hand, seen some undisciplined kids playing football. I hope that they are better people now because of it. I hope that they are more disciplined adults because of their association with athletics. I hope, 20 years from now, they don't anonymously point fingers at high school kids and those that have the patience to work with them. I wish this team the best. This game will be a test, and we need to win badly. We need to win big. We need to play with heart and intensity. We need to build confidence.

8th graders are pretty salty for sure. 7th graders are typical 7th graders. Pretty good, but still learning.

If the towns people could only see these athletes in school. They are lazy in the weight room and lazy and disrespectful in the classroom. Things like this catch up to. No better than a .500 record this year and only because the schedule gets really soft now, and no further than the first round of playoffs again. I'm sorry but attitude reflects leadership, and I see Kenny regularly and know he has no sense of discipline. I worry about all our sport programs now that he is in charge of all of it.

Most of us do not get to see them in school or the weight room. Most of us do not get to seem them at practice even. We get to see them on Friday nights. What I witnessed Friday night was a team that played with heart, class, and passion. I also witnessed a coaching staff that could have scored 90+ points but didn't. Instead, the coaching staff played every kid suited in a black jersey, keeping the score from getting out of hand AND gaining experience for the younger players. Looked pretty good to me.

im from hugoton and ulysses has always taken pride in there football program and for the most part been pretty darn good. Your coach is a good coach just like we think ours is a good coach. Yes talent does play a part but the coach is there to make it all work. You guys play a tuff schedule and seem to win the big games in district when you have to. We are hoping this is the year we can beat you but it will be tuff. Good luck the rest of the way and forget about those naysayers on here

Now what? Our kids have played hard, showed toughness, and have clinched another play off spot against a good Pratt team. Hugoton will come into town with their best team ever, supposedly. Maybe we should soften our schedule like some teams do, so we could be unbeaten at this point. Wait, maybe that's how we beat teams with better athletes this time of the year. Our tough early season will pay off.
