The economics of marijuana are simple and attractive. It costs an estimated $400 to grow a pound of pot. One pound sells for $2,500 to a middle man. It then yields $6,000 on the street. With low start-up and overhead costs, marijuana is the most profitable drug of all, according to local law enforcement officials. With that kind of profit margin, marijuana is increasingly filling the gap left by other failing industries like lumber and fishing.
See the CNBC report here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28354324/
What you forgot to mention is that more than half the pot that's grown is sold to kids under the age of 18 and this has driven the nations drop out rate to more than 50 percent in many areas.

Carlos Santana just said we should legalize pot and use the profits to help education. He believes we should use the pot money that mostly sources from kids and is destroying their health, educations and futures and put it toward education. What's wrong with this picture?

Carlos Santana has been smoking too much high quality pot.

LOL I love the BS about kids hit them in sensitive spot. But it not true for this simple reason. THE TRUTH DOESN'T FEAR INVESTIGATION.

Anyway no offence.

Jury Immunity
What is Jury Immunity?

Do not give up your jury rights. Cannabis prosecutions often end with judges giving the following jury instructions: "You cannot substitute your sense of justice, whatever that is, for your duty to follow the law. You must follow the law as I give it to you."

Or what? What would happen to the jurors if they did what they thought was just? Would the jury go to prison? Be fined? How would the judge know if the jury thought the law was unjust? Must juries explain their verdicts?

What would happen to the jurors? The answer is nothing. Nothing will happen to the jurors. Juries are not forced to explain their verdicts and they are immune from punishment. So while the Supreme Court allows judges to give jury instructions that seem to threaten the jury, the same Justices protect juries from punishment, as seen in the Ed Rosenthal case (see WCC #3).

What about jury selection and jury oaths? Judges and prosecutors are allowed to question potential jurors about their political beliefs and force them to take an oath before serving on a jury.

I see this as an ethical dilemma for citizens. Would you give up your right to vote in an election if you had to take an oath first? Or, would you take the oath and then vote as you thought best?

Each citizen must decide for themselves how valuable their rights are, and how easily they give them away. Will you disclose your political beliefs and be screened off a jury? Or, will you quietly protect your own right to a jury trial by not letting the court stack the jury when you are in the jury pool?

If more citizens saw being a juror as a valuable right, instead of a duty, the unjust and counterproductive policy of cannabis prohibition would end quickly. Prosecutors, after losing many cases, would stop prosecuting. Then police would stop arresting, then the legislature would be forced to change the laws.

Thomas Jefferson said, "Freedom is the only thing you cannot have without giving to everyone else."

The 4th ammendment gives a jury the right not only to judge the crime but also the law itself.
You have the right not to listen to the judges instructions. Balance of power is checked by the jury.

There is something to be said about those who grow purely in the name of profit...they are part of the problem with the falling economy. Now there hasn't been a struggling trend amongst growers. But that's what puts a smile on my face. I'm not for growing and selling, I am for honesty. Smoke all you want, grow all you want, but when you sell it in the name of greed here's where I don't agree. If you are an "honest grower" (oxy-moron) then PAY TAXES accordingly. Bottom line is that if you are truly legal you would already be doing that. A true business has records of profit, loss, cost of production, etc. and pays TAXES on their profits like everyone who works. I have yet to see the IRS come into play but it is beginning to look like it's finally coming down to that. When Mr. Pothead buys a new truck, land, boat, motorcycle, etc. and has no proof of how he earned the money to buy it, then it's political justice time. Good luck with that. To all you flaunting growers a big thanks for screwing up so good. We couldn't have found you without that big neon sign on your hummers with rims. I think it's time to be re-educated-----A is for AUDIT, B is for BAIL, C is for CEASED ASSET! With our economic crisis there will be a big brother coming soon.

Do you mean child poisoning like at the Laytonville Dump that sits right above the Cahto Rancheria?
The one that has been poisoning the residents of the Laytonville Cahto Reservation and Laytonville for years.
Is that the child poisoning your talkin' bout?
This dump here?
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
or this one?
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
Or was it this poisoned Mendocino County Site, that the county has refused to cleanup, regardless of the obvious "CANCER ZONE" around the place where the PCB Laden Transformers were dumped by PGE??
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
Is this the "child poisoning" in Mendocino your talking about?
Or are you talking about the Harrahs Brothers Old Machine Shop, Better known as "REMCO HYDRAULICS" which operated rigt next to the middle school in Willits subjecting tens of thousands of students to toxic chemicals used in the plating of war machinery?
Is that the "child poisoning" your talkin about?
Or what about the tens of thousands of children in Mendocino County who have been put on mind altering pharmaceuticals at the claws and recommendations of our Local School Districts "Counselors and Doctors Nurses and Counselors", not to mention the thousands who were placed into "foster homes" (if thats what you can call them) put on Prozac , Lithium(a chemical Lobotomy), or Ritalin., drugs by the way, created by the German Nazi Pfizer Company, who worked with Nazi Scientists during WWII.
Are these the poisoned kids you are talking about in Mendocino County?
Or maybe your talking about all those children handed over to "foster care homes" ran by the Peoples Temple and Jim Jones and the CIA.
How many of those Ukiah Foster Kids were shipped off to Guyana along with the now assistant DA's son, only to be killed in what the US Government has claimed was a mass suicide, yet Guyanese Officials who were the first responders described as a "MASS HOMICIDE".
Are these the poisoned children you are talking about??
Or maybe the children who had LSD experiments performed on them at Mendocino State Hospital, come on just google it: "lsd mendocino state hospital experiments", there you will read Dr. Wilson Van Dusen, the Chief Clinical Adviser at the Mendocino State Hospital describe how he administered LSD to unwitting patients in US Government Sponsored "Experiments". Many of these "SUBJECTS" would later be released to the CIA funded "Peoples Temple", only to fall victim to public humiliation, MK-ULTRA mind control experiments, whippings, beatings and other "sensory deprivation techniques".
Are these some of the people who have been "poisoned" by Mendocino Marijuana, or to the contrary, have they been poisoned by the County, State and Federal Government that are here "TO PROTECT AND SERVE"?
Who are the real poisoners of Mendocino County?
If you doubt anything I said above, I encourage you to learn the truth about the Poisoining of Mendocino County and DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!
Next Week well hit off on the Poisoning of Ukiah by Masonite and Louisiana Pacific and PCB's at the Georgia Pacific Site in Fort Bragg. Stay Tuned!
