Mendo combat is not a place to send your kids, friends, or even adults... I would not recommend my worst enemy to this location, unless you are in to being a grappling dummy or getting punched on, definitely not a place Gracie Jui Jitsu would be proud to be affiliated with if they saw how they treated customers and individuals... They are content with collecting your money until they are finished with you then are really disrespectful, poor teaching, poor environment. I heard they left one of there fighters at an event because he didn't win, definitely not something a real team or coach would do any definitely not something any normal, productive, individuals would would want to be affiliated with...

Agreed, at least Mike stands by his trainees and is there for them, Mike was a good coach and cared unlike Nate who is an egotistical meathead who will talk and then run or hide FORMER proud club member wrote: To all of you who are running your mouths, we are about training hard down there and learning jiu jitsu as a martial art not to beat up on people and to be frankly honest getting rid of mike as a coach was one of the worst moves on the combat clubs parts, he is one of the best if not theebest coaches I have ever had and it didnt take me long to realize that, I know about mike's past but what does that have to do with his qualifications as a teacher, I would be more than happy to meet anyone who wants to talk shit behind a computer down there AND GET IN THE CAGE IN DEFENSE OF MIKE

I hate to break it to you Dave but ask Nate where Jay is now, GONE because Nate screwed Jay like he did many others... You dont leave your fighters, period. Dave Cavagna wrote: I post my real name, no games about it, Nate and Rhonda are good people and their current students like Jay and others are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I don't know all the people personally that have been there since Nate opened the place but I can tell you Nate is a man that cares about people! and Rhonda is the same way! they don't play games and they are loyal to their friends. When I was there and new students came down, Nate watched closely to make sure they were being treated good. I live to far away to go there on a regular basis but if Nate or Rhonda asked for my help, I would be there for them because I know they are just a good hearted family trying to make it.

Dave is a good coach I got to work with him, unfortunately he didn't get to stick around to see how Nate treated people otherwise I dont think he would be supportive... Dave Cavagna wrote: Tom, to directly answer your question the pep talk and compliments are for programs that get our youth into something possitive. Sports like Jujitsu, boxing, wrestling, football, baseball, soccer to me are really just tools to get these young people away from drugs, gangs etc... and focused on getting healthy. A good coach works with their character too. When I was 14 to 17 I boxed at a boys club in Sonoma, if any of the team got caught bullying someone, street fighting, smoking pot, we were automatically kicked off the team. Trust me I understand the concerns posted, but I think Nate and Rhonda need to be given the benifit of the doubt. Go in there and talk to them, they will listen to any concerns and probobly shake your hand and thank you for clarifying things, so they can understand how to clear this up. I get bullys, thief's and ego cases here in Lake County, as a matter a fact I kicked a bully out last week. Sometimes we jump to conclusions and end up shooting our own soldiers.

what hell hole do you live in? martial arts is not about violence it is about control. Violence is a by product of it being control of combat situations. Aikido is not violence point sparring is not violent, formal exercises are not violent. full contact is sport not violence. Combat is violence, and all the weird shit floating around in this guys sick mind.
