I checked out his website and it lists the Diaz brothers as his buddys. I see the Diaz boys hanging around the hells angles wearing their red and white cloths. Nice place to get your kids introduced into the white power criminal street gang. No thanks, I'll pass!

while i wholeheartedly agree that a skatepark in Ukiah has become more an urban legend than a possibility, the ring is a privately funded business, not a public undertaking.

I don't know anything about the owner, but you what they say. Birds of a feather. I think it is a great idea, and would love to go down there and participate in the training opportunities. With garbage like Mike and Dave Diaz and their following of biker scum down there I will have to pass. Good idea though, good luck with Mike. He will be pedaling steroids down there, sucker punching people, and proving himself as a piece of garbage. I guess if you are trying to target the criminal element of Ukiah you have found the right crowd.

i understand that, but it's not a business permit holding up the skate park.

i'm no big fan of tough-guy UFC crap either, but if they went through the proper channels then more power to them i guess.

MOMMY - they have ENGLISH classes at the ukiah adult school EVERY DAY. THEY ARE FREE. It's very hard to understand or even attempt to decipher what on earth you are trying to say.

now~ back to the topic..I think the owners' first mistake was referring to their business as 'combat' club. A big red flag popped up when i read the title of the article.
Maybe the owner(s) IS friends with THE one and only Diaz Brothers... and maybe they ARE 'training' people in his 'club'.
BUT... just to give the owner Nate and his wifey the benefit of the doubt, maybe they don't know the Diaz Bros the way that the rest of Ukiah does. Maybe he should hang out with them outside of the 'club' out in public & see what kind of reputation they have in the community. Unfortunately, in a small area such as Ukiah, you are automatically guilty by association.
I personally won't be frequenting this combat club and i definitely wouldnt allow my children to be influenced by people such as the Diazs. I don't know too many people who are interested in that type of scene. Does anyone want to wager on how long this legitimate 'business' will remain in operation?

I also think the reporter did a horrible job of attempting to convey the message that this combat club is for 'everyone'.

We're sorry to hear the negative feedback from the comments posted! We are from Santa Rosa and are not aware of the allegations posted or what Mike Diaz does outside our facility. Mike Diaz offered to coach boxing for us on Tues.& Thurs...that's it. Our facility views Mixed Martial Arts (which includes jiu-jitsu and boxing) as a SPORT - not an avenue to promote violence. Don't judge us based on the reputation of someone else - come & see for yourself that it's a safe and positive learning environment!
