Tell me if anything I'm saying is not true:
Katlyn died of Methadone poisoning.
Garett because of his back and drug issues had access to Methadone.
katlyn had no issues that were treated with Methadone.
Besides for chronic pain or Heroin withdrawal, I've never known anyone that used Methadone.
This case seems painfully simple.

It is simple and I would love for a jury to hear it. Did you know you can take a photo of your victim and send it to someone and that is not enough evidence? True in this world we live in today.

I thought that the new D.A., having used Katlyn's case to help his campaign promises, had promised to move on this case if he were elected!? He's been in office how long now? I do not like false promises. I do not like people I love being used to further someone's personal agenda. Another sleazy politican. I had truly hoped, along with everyone else, that this D.A. was going to do the right thing. How can he sleep at night knowing he led this family and community on, and was elected because he promised all the right things, but has not produced?

In cases where the perpetrator has the time to arrange the scene, the victim, and his story (accompanied with the advice of three lawyers) it can be a difficult road BUT time will tell as to just how difficult. The DA is looking into the case, I do know that. It sucks and it should not be this way but sometimes it seems that the law goes overboard to protect perpetrators and does nothing to ziltch for victims. I guess that is why victims rights groups abound.

Ok, so this case has sickened me, and really opened my eye to how this community can turn a blind eye to "Murder".......reall y, murder!!! I heard the story from many envolved, I am friends with murderers family, family with the murderers attourneys and friends with the local police envolved, also family of the local sherrifs!!!!! Enough!!!!! Someone get some balls, do the right thing.......arrest him and put him on trial!! I'm not going to say he is guilty (no matter what I know in my heart), but I am going to say there is wayyyyyy to much evidence to ignore this case! Come on, how can this go two and a half years without an arrest? So he has been arrested for Meth, but please tell me why after this amount of time......even with the autopsy, phone evidence(pictures of her dead body......sent by killer). Yes, I guess....LOTS of curcumstantial evidence. But yet, "lots" of evidence!! I can't imagine what the long family is going through, being asked to "be quiet".....are you kidding my.... their daughter was murdered, and they know it, most of the town knows it and they "can't talk"???!!! I wish I knew what the next step was in making justice happen for the Long family? Something needs to be done NOW!!! I have never heard of a case of this much evidence and this much time gone bye and yet nothing done. Have we talked to ABC, Oprah, all of the news channels that are friends with our locals? We have connections in this town and we need to come together and use them to bring out the truth of this case!!

This is also a plea to Garrets family....."you know what it is like to not have justice for the murder of your own father", if you know the truth, don't hide it. I could never imagine having to turn my own child in, but write is write and wrong is wrong...... what about the truth?

I knew our justice system was flawed but I had no idea just how badly flawed it was and just how often murderers and child molesters get away with it. It is no wonder we have the crime that we do. And it is devastating and heartbreaking.Justice for Katlyn!!!

I made one typo error that needs to be clarified: I am not family of the attourneys. It was suppost to say friend. To "wanting Justice" I just want to say thank you. I can tell you truly do care, and you truly do feel the frustrations that we all are experiencing. And more, you genuinely and sincerely make a very real plea for Justice for Katlyn. Nothing can un-do what this horrible person did. I will never understand how someone could feel entitled enough to take another person's life. I know break-ups can be devastating, but to actually want to kill someone for falling out of love??? Especially when they had more than enough reason to want out of the relationship for a very long time! She finally got up her nerve and did what she needed to do to get happy again. She was happy. She was looking forward to her future. She was getting back to her old, happy, artistic self. She was in love with her new beau. She had everything going for her. And this killer felt that he had the right to end her life! He needs to be brought to justice. The truth needs to come out. It won't bring Katie back, but it will give voice to her and prove without a doubt, that she was killed and who killed her. She deserves that. End the rumors. Let the truth be told. If my child killed someone, and it was cold-blooded and caluclated like this, I couldn't live with myself if I had to keep that secret! I would still love my child, and I would make them face the consequences. This speaks to the character of the family as much as anything could. If I lived in Fort Bragg, there is no way I could ever do business with anyone connected to that family, and I would spread the word. Hit them where they live. Get the truth out. Let Garret pay for what he did.

No way!! Let me get this straight, help a murdere, get elected to a public office? And not just any public office, but one that deals with the molding of our children?? Fort Bragg should be renamed to Bazarro World. I don't understand Garret not being arrested. I don't understand a father helping his lying, murdering son to escape justice. And I certainly do not understand a community that elects this type of person to make decisions that affect children and families!!!! Unbelievable.

2 year statute of limitations in CA. Knowing what we have and what we were being told, we did not think we would need to go that route. Civil court will set monetary damages and a statement toward guilt but criminal court was where we want this to go. Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and then punishment to fit the crime. Definitely NO access to possible victims ever! Since I have gotten involved with victims of violent crimes and their families, I have come to find that our justice system can be very flawed when it comes to victims rights. We allow dangerous people to walk when we know what they are capable of. That was one thing I thought Peru did well w/ Joran van der Sloot. Strong evidence a person is a brutal, cold-blooded killer and I think the public has a right to know he isn't walking the streets until his trial. Quite different treatment there then Aruba but then he did have his daddy with him too.
